Summary
In yet another awe-inspiring example of the freedom players have inThe Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, someone recently built an impressive mechanical sea serpent for exploring the waters of Hyrule. Even a year afterThe Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdomlaunched on the Nintendo Switch to much acclaim, fans are still taking advantage of the game’s in-depth crafting mechanics to build incredible machines that can either carry Link acrossTears of the Kingdom’s large open world or engage in humorous distractions from the quest to defeat Ganondorf and save the land from certain destruction.
The possibilities of Link’s powerful Ultrahand ability are as vast as Hyrule itself, as evidenced by the sheer variety of contraptions that players have made and shared across social media sinceTears of the Kingdomlaunched last May. Some of the more recent examples include an impressive aircraft carrier and a small bomber to launch it from, an equally awe-inspiring battle cruiser armed with explosive Zonai cannons, and a biplane that can carry Link through the skies aboveHyrule inTears of the Kingdom.
Reddit user kmarkow recently showed off their own spike-coveredZelda: Tears of the Kingdomcreation on r/HyruleEngineering, a subreddit devoted to the many contraptions players have built using Ultrahand and whatever Link has lying around. It also sportsa powerful Zonai laseron its head that automatically fires on any enemies that dare swim into Link’s path, and it can travel on dry land as well.
