Nintendo introduced weapon fusing to theZeldafranchise withThe Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, and one fan has created one of the least helpful boomerang fusions ever. WhenBreath of the Wildwas released back in 2017, much of the foundation forThe Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdomhad been made, but the addition of weapon fusing makes for many interesting combinations like this potentially useless tool.
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdomfittingly retains many of the systems fromBreath of the Wild, with the sequel featuring the same stamina wheel, Korok puzzles, shield surfing, and more. With much of the Hyrule landscape being slightly altered inThe Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, the map has been expanded to include a multitude of floating islands, and an underground cave network that combine to exponentially expand the setting established withBreath of the Wild. Weapon fusing may bea new concept toThe Legend of ZeldafranchisewithTears of the Kingdom, but fans continue to make an arsenal of innovative equipment, with this boomerang potentially among the least useful.

Reddit user ClayMeta recently shared a clip in which they are exploring one of the many Bokoblin camps that dotThe Legend of Zelda: Tears of the KingdomHyrulelandscape. These Bokoblin camps were a common staple ofBreath of the Wildthat was retained in its sequel, and they often include important loot for progressing through the game and some weapons that may be useful against other enemies. With a Knights Shield and boomerang already equipped, ClayMeta chose to fuse one of the Bokoblin items lying around camp with their throwable melee weapon to hilarious effect.
Immediately after combining an explosive barrel with their boomerang usingThe Legend of Zelda: Tears of the KingdomFuse mechanic, ClayMeta throws their new tool off the side of the Bokoblin camp. Perhaps to no surprise, the explosive boomerang that ClayMeta had just made quickly circles back and returns to Link who fails to catch it, with the weapon exploding on contact and catching the hero on fire in the process. With the explosive boomerang causing such an explosion once connecting with Link, somefans have speculated that this weapon combination could be used as an offering to enemies like Lizalfos who may throw it and receive the same fiery result.
Although the clip concludes just after the boomerang connects with Link and having already lost two heart containers' worth of damage when the ClayMeta clip began, the damage caused by the exploding boomerang may have been enough to cause a game over screen. While the boomerang attack in the clip had consequences for throwing it, the fusing of these two items could be used to defeat enemies likeThe Legend of Zelda: Tears of the KingdomBokoblinsthat usually litter these camps if thrown directly at them instead of nothing.
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdomis available now for Nintendo Switch.
