Summary
One inventive fan has recently showcased a deadly cluster drone that can outright delete a Hinox inThe Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. A video demonstration of their devastating war machine made the rounds on social media just as anotherTears of the Kingdomplayer deleted a Lynel with a pulse emitter.
Hinoxes have been part of theZeldaseries since the third installment in the franchise,The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. Following their 1991 debut, these Cyclops-like enemies have featured in over half a dozen titles. DefeatingHinoxes inBreath of the WildandTears of the Kingdomisn’t particularly challenging relative to the size of these creatures, but doing so can still take a bit of effort due to their hefty health pools, especially once they start covering their sole yellow eye that happens to be their main weak spot.

One alternative approach to Hinox encounters would be to wreak havoc on them from above, ideally via a proxy. This was recently demonstrated by Reddit user Huydeptrai0794, who built a fairly convoluted cluster drone that breaks into smaller hovering turrets once it launches. Following its rocket-propelled ascension, this deadly war machine outright deleted the Hinox sleeping on the Carok Bridge to the northwest of Lookout Landing, which is the first member of this species that many players will encounter inThe Legend of Zelda:Tears of the Kingdom.
The clustering mechanism that Huydeptrai0794 devised consists of several Zonai Time Bombs holding together two pairs of Hover Stones equipped with Beam Emitters mounted on Construct Heads. Not only does this setup allow the platform to splinter into multiple deadly turrets, but its creator even demonstrated how careful placement allows players to time its launch to catch surrounding enemies in the ensuing cluster explosion. In the end, the Hinox stood no chance, succumbing to the drone’s incessant attacks in about five seconds after waking up from its nap.
Even though a single Zonai Beam Emitter does unimpressive damage, the fandom has long realized the devastating potential that can be unlocked by bundling these weapons together. That particular strategy previously yielded the basis of aLynel-farming machine that anotherTears of the Kingdomplayer builtback in July.
Hinoxes have found themselves on the receiving end of many deadly player experiments ever since the newZeldagame released in May. Prior to this newly emerged cluster drone demonstration, oneTears of the Kingdomplayer found a way to down a Hinox before the creature can even stand up.
