Helldivers 2has an assortment of weaponry for players to use. In total, a player can hold three guns at onceduring a mission. These are primary, secondary, and support weapons. While each gun likely has an important role to play when taking on the Terminids or the Automatons, there are still weapons a player should watch out for and never consider taking with them on the field.

These weapons can be found in the regular Warbond, as well as the two Warbonds available with Super Credits. Therefore, these are by far theworst weapons inHelldivers 2, and players should avoid purchasing them when looking at what guns to take with them to spread democracy.

Although a tempting choice for some players inHelldivers 2, the Liberator Concussive is meant to be an assault rifle that blasts explosive rounds. While this explosive trait means the gun will do more damage to the vulnerable areas of foes, this gun shoots slower thanthe regular liberatorand usually deals the same amount of damage.

With this in mind, it can make it a poor choice for dealing with a group of enemies, as players will need to be further away from their foes if they hope to not end up defeated on the floor.

Although theDiligence Counter Sniperis supposed to be a modified and is therefore an upgraded version of the regular Diligence, many players would be better off sticking with the original.

Although this version is far better suited fordealing with distant foes, it lacks all the qualities of the original that made it perfect for close to medium range. The Diligence Counter Sniper is far too slow to be a reliable gun, with many players struggling to find a place to use it.

Balanced But Better Options Exist

Although players will be forced to use theP-2 Peacemakerat the start of the game, better secondary weapons exist that gamers are likely to get early when purchasing the various weapons available in the free Warbond.

While it is a balanced pistol that has a decent rate of fire, some players may feel thePeacemakerisn’t fast enough and will look forward to changing out this one pistol for the Redeemer or even the Dagger, which make great secondary options when a Helldiver finds themselves in a tight spot.

4LAS-5 Scythe

Primary Guns Need To Be Faster

Laser weapons may seem like a great choice at first glance due to never needing to be reloaded. However, while they may hit continuously, the weapon is in direneed of some improvementsbefore players should consider bringing along this option.

If the Scythe were to receive the same improvements as theLAS-98 Laser Canondid, then this weapon would have the potential to eat through both bugs and robots alike, with an even higher amount of armor penetration.

Better Supply Weapons Available And Early

As mentioned, players can hold more than just their primary and secondary weapons inHelldivers 2. They can also use their stratagems to call down support weapons like theMG-43 Machine Gun.

As this is another starting option for players, there is no actual investment to be had in using this weapon, though players may wish to focus on taking other stratagems with them instead. This is because the Machine Gun is prone to eating through its ammunition rapidly and will quickly become outmatched as theplayer progresses through difficulties.

Leaves Helldivers Open Up Close

While players may be tempted toinvest their Super Creditsin the two premium Warbonds that are available, this shouldn’t be for its weaponry. TheSG-8P Punisher Plasmasounds like it should be a lethal plasma weapon that should zap foes, but this couldn’t be farther from the truth.

Although brilliant when dealing with a group of enemies from a distance, the explosive plasma damage starts to hurt both the player and their teammates if they get too close to the bullets. The lack of capacity also makes it awful for single enemies that are up close.

Weaker Than What A Revolver Should Be

When players are given a revolver inHelldivers 2, many expect a hard-hitting gun that makes up for how slow its rounds are. However, this doesn’t appear to be the case for theP-4 Senator, which does mediocre damage compared to how slowly it fires.

Players can only shoot 6 bullets before they are required to reload. This can make dire situations near impossible with this secondary weapon, which might not kill a single foe during one whole round of shots.
