World of Warcraftjust announced the end date forShadowlandsSeason 4. Though it hasn’t been officially confirmed, the same date will almost certainly beginWorld of Warcraft’s Pre-Patch event forDragonflight.
In a recent post on the Blizzard forum,World of Warcraftannounced the final season ofShadowlandsPvP and Mythic+would be ending on October 25. The ending of the season means Mythic+ and PvP seasonal rewards, titles, and ranks will be finalized, and will no longer be available to earn.

With theseason ending just about a month before the launch ofDragonflight, it seems almost certain the Pre-Patch for the newWorld of Warcraftexpansion will also begin the same day. TheDragonflightPre-Patch will not only swap over to the new Talent Trees for its classes, but it will also likely include the UI overhaul as well. Players will be able to make their Dracthyr Evoker characters and play through the Forbidden Reach starting zone, and they can look forward to a Primalist-themed world event in the weeks leading up to launch.
If that were not evidence enough, acredibleWorld of Warcraftleaker previously shared internal release datesfor several Blizzard products, includingWrath of the Lich King ClassicandDragonflight. All the other dates on the document have been correct, and it stated October 25 as the beginning of theDragonflightPre-Patch. With two weeks until the date,World of Warcraftwill likely make a formal announcement soon.
World of Warcraftplayers are always excited about expansion Pre-Patch events. These events mark the truebeginning of newWorld of Warcraftexpansion cycles. Players will finally be able to experiment with the new Talent Trees and create their new Dracthyr characters, even without access to theDragonflightbeta. Likewise, Pre-Patch events are almost always memorable and exciting for the limited time they are available, so many players can’t wait to see what exactlyDragonflight’sevent will be.
Of course, some players are still worried thatWorld of Warcraft: Dragonflightwon’t be ready for its November release. Though the game has seen significant improvement across its alpha and beta tests, and players have generally liked what they have seen, there are still bugs left to squash. Some players think the refurbished Talent Trees could especially use more polishing, and they fear what will happen if they are released without significant rebalancing. Nevertheless, November is approaching rapidly, andWorld of Warcraftmaintains it will be ready for the release on 28th. Players won’t have to wait long to see ifDragonflightsoars high enough to meet their expectations.
