World of Warcraftpulled back the curtain on what players can expect in a few days with the release of the patch notes for Patch 10.1,Embers of Neltharion. The next major content update forWorld of Warcraft: Dragonflightwill take players to the deep underground of the Dragon Isles as multiple forces seek to uncover the dark secrets that Neltharion, who would later be known as Deathwing, left behind and use them for their own ends.
WhenEmbers of Nelthariongoes live on May 2 following a scheduled maintenance period, anew zone called the Zaralek Cavernwill be accessible for level 70 characters to explore. A new faction called the Loamm Niffen will provide rewards for players that seek to gain renown with these sharp-nosed cavern dwellers. In addition, a long-awaited feature in the form of cross-faction guilds will be added toWorld of Warcraftwith some limitations in place. Like any major update to Blizzard’s long-running MMORPG, the 10.1 update will include plenty of class tuning and balance updates to keep gameplay fresh for players of all kinds.

InEmbers of Neltharion, one major change will be to reduce the impact that healers have on the game’s balance byincreasing the health of players and enemiesby 25% across the board. As a result, the Leech stat as well as any self-healing abilities that players can use will also be adjusted accordingly. In addition, both Shadow Priests and Devastation Evokers will see their talent trees get some major updates. While neither of those will be changed to the extent of the Retribution Paladin rework in Patch 10.0.7, both of those caster DPS specs should see some improved gameplay once the patch goes live.Click here to read the full patch notes.
While major updates toWorld of Warcrafthave a reputation for leaving zones from the previous patches behind, anew feature called Fyrakk Assaultsseeks to change that. Periodically, the Primal Incarnate called Fyrakk the Blazing will take over a location on the Dragon Isles and spawn various creatures for players to fight. Similar to the Primal Storms in concept, Fyrakk Assaults will appear at regular intervals and reward participating players with armor themed around the Black Dragonflight, as well as a new currency that can be used to upgrade gear in a more streamlined manner than before.
However,World of Warcraftplayers that want to experience a new raid tier will have to wait just a little longer.Dragonflightseason 2 kicks off on May 9, which is when players can starttaking on Aberrus the Shadowed Crucible. All in all,World of Warcraftplayers are in for a wealth of content in theEmbers of Neltharionupdate.
