Although most of the Aeons distance themselves from factions' activities, many members still claim to be their emissaries. The Aeons have multiple factions that follow them, with each having their own belief systems and practices to honor the gods. For example, the followers of Nous The Erudition are intelligent beings from the Genius Society and the Intelligentsia Guild. The former uses knowledge to contribute to the advancement of the cosmos, while the latter believes in using knowledge as a commodity.

There are materials inHonkai: Star Railthat talk about Aeons being involved in human affairs. They’re either bringing disarray among humans or battling other Aeons to maintain balance in the universe.

It’s been established that Aeons play a big role in the events ofHonkai: Star Rail, and by extension, factions also help in shaping the universe. In every world that the Trailblazers have traveled to so far, the game brings together different faction entities, both good and evil, to give players a glimpse of their motives and their function in society. The ongoing Penacony arc does a great job of showcasing how the branches of The Family, who are followers of Xipe The Harmony, keep The Reverie and Dreamscape in line. Plus, how Aha The Elation’s Masked Fools, represented by the upcomingfive-star banner character Sparkle, is wreaking havoc in Penacony.

Honkai: Star Railhas barely scratched the surface of its factions, but that’s a good thing since it means HoYoverse will have so much material to work with as the Astral Express continues its voyage. More playable characters that could matchGenshin Impact’s character rosterare one benefit, while HoYoverse could also get creative with missions, perhaps letting players interact with powerful leaders or even the Aeons they worship. Right now, there are around 30 known factions inHonkai: Star Rail, and most of them have only been mentioned either in reading materials or in character dialogue.
