Elden RingDLC is currently trending on Twitter thanks to a Game Awards-related post, but not the one that fans think. Indeed, many fans are eagerly awaiting the beloved FromSoftware game to get a DLC announcement, but unfortunately, this isn’t it.

FromSoftware has never hinted at or officially stated thatElden Ringwould get DLC, but fans do expect it. MostFromSoftware Soulsborne games get DLC likeBloodborne’s Old Hunters, and what’s most exciting is how FromSoftware can introduce new lore and/or expand upon it, while giving players a new challenge. Indeed, FromSoftware DLC is typically harder than the base game, meaning there could be a more challenging boss on the horizon than Malenia, but this isn’t it.

The Game Awards recently posted a fill-in-the-blank question that states “The world premiere I’m most hoping to see at The Game Awards is ________.” And the volume of responses hoping forElden RingDLChas caused the phase to trend on the social media platform. That’s obviously not the most reliable metric in the world, but it’s clear how much FromSoft fans desperately want to return to The Lands Between. Truth be told, The Game Awards would be the perfect place for this announcement.

Elden Ringwas first revealed during Microsoft’s Xbox conference at E3 2019, and the game has skipped many shows over the years. It’s not impossible it happens here too, but what’s clear is how a game likeElden Ringdeserves a big stage. The next big stage after The Game Awards is months away, meaning that if DLC is happening even relatively soon, an announcement at the showcase would make sense. After all, FromSoftware DLC traditionally releases around 7-8 months after the base game, thoughElden Ring’s size could make the matter more complicated here.

The game has already passed that window, for example, but with rumors thatFromSoftware is busy working onElden RingDLC, it could be that an announcement comes soon even if it’s a bit further out than past patterns would indicate. As to what this could be, if it does indeed happen, is known to no one outside FromSoftware, but there are plenty of possibilities:expanding Miquella’s story and lore, introducing colosseums and new PVP features, diving deeper into Godfrey’s story, or finally giving fans answers on the Gloam-Eyed Queen, among many, many others.

Elden Ringis available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
