Thursday, January 13 is going to be a heartbreaking day for fans of Xbox’sHalofranchise. On that day, theservers for legacyHalogames on the Xbox 360 will be shut down forever, making it impossible for fans to play the 360 versions ofHalo 3,Halo 3 ODST,Halo 4,Halo: Reach, andHalo: Combat Evolved Anniversaryin online matchmaking. In light of this, someHalofans are returning to the classic games for one last hurrah.
This includesHalo 3fan Fishy956, who was trying to unlock the Two for One achievement before the servers were shut down. Apparently the Two for One achievement was the last one that Fishy956 needed to unlock in the game, though with it largely based on luck, it was going to be difficult for them to unlock it naturally. When loading up a game ofHalo 3, Fishy956 asked their fellow players if they would help them unlock the achievement, and they obliged.

The wholesomeHalo 3clip shows Fishy956’s opponents lining up so that they can blast them with a Spartan Laser. The Two for One achievement, for the uninitiated, requiresHalo 3playersto get a Double Kill with a single Spartan Laser shot in a ranked Free for All playlist. Doing this achievement requiresHalo 3players to first get their hands on a Spartan Laser and then get lucky enough to get a shot on two enemies that happen to be lined up, so it’s usually very difficult to unlock and it’s not surprising that this was the last achievement Fishy956 needed to unlock in the game.
It’s unfortunate that theHalo 3Xbox 360 servers are being taken offline, but on the bright side, it’s still possible to enjoy the game and all its associated content. While theXbox 360 version ofHalo 3is being sunset, the game is still readily accessible throughHalo: The Master Chief Collectionon Xbox One and Xbox Series X.
And of course, there’s the newestHalogame to try as well, the well-receivedHalo Infinite.Halo Infinitereviewshave been mostly positive since launch and while there have been complaints about its cosmetics and monetization, fans otherwise have responded enthusiastically to the game and what it has to offer. Whether or not it enjoys the same longevity asHalo 3or other classicHalogames remains to be seen, but for nowHalo Infiniteis the go-to destination for most franchise fans.
However, fans have years to playHalo Infiniteand only a couple of days left to playHalo 3on Xbox 360, so those interested in getting one last game or two in should make sure to do so while they still can.
