The first State of Play of March wasn’t that long ago, showing off games likeForspoken, Ghostwire: Tokyo, Exoprimal, and far more. There were rumors that there would be another PlayStation event this month, supposedly set to finally featureHogwarts Legacy. As many know,Hogwarts Legacyis a full-blown RPG based on the popular franchise. There’s not a whole lot known regardingHogwarts Legacy’s spells, world map, gameplay, or anything like that, but the premise has had fans hyped for a long time. State of Play Date + Details, Hogwarts Legacy’s First Gameplay Showcase
The New State of Play is scheduled for March 17 at 2 PM PT/5 PM ET. Fans can expect this presentation to last around 20 minutes, with 14 minutes of those beingHogwarts Legacygameplayon PS5 hardware. In other words, it sounds like the presentation is by and large a demo. It could be that the other 6 minutes are filled with more Hogwarts Legacy content like a story trailer and more, but it’s confirmed that a few members of Avalanche Software will also discuss their work on the game.
14 minutes of presumably uninterrupted gameplay is a good chunk of viewing time and will allow players to finally see exactly how the game plays. While gameplay and general world exploration will likely be a focus, hopefully, this also hones in onHogwarts Legacy’s character creation, too. Really, 14 minutes is enough time to show A LOT. If fans are really lucky, perhaps there will be arelease date forHogwarts Legacythere, too.
State of Play: Will Other Games Will Be There?
Many fans will be expecting other games to be there, as even previous State of Plays that focused on games likeRatchet and Clank: Rift ApartorDeathloopshowcased another game or two there. However, it sounds like when it says aHogwarts Legacy-focused State of Play, it does mean ONLYHogwarts Legacy.14 minutes of gameplay eats up the majority of the time, while a story trailer + release date and commentary from Avalanche Software will almost certainly eat up the rest.
It’s not impossible Sony or Warner Bros sneaks in another game or two, but fans shouldn’t expect much—if anything—in that regard. With how long it’s been sinceHogwarts Legacy’s last outing, though, it stands to reason that fans won’t be disappointed with 20 minutes of the game.
Hogwarts Legacyis in development for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
