Hifumi Togo is theStar Confidant inPersona 5, a fitting arcana for her status in the game. Hifumi is a shogi player who, at the game’s start, has been quickly rising to fame for her impressive track record. Unfortunately, her fame comes with more downsides than benefits. Other shogi players resent her and don’t take her seriously, damaging her image. Hifumi also has a side job as a model that she hates, and her mother would rather she pursue that path. Hifumi is also one of the romanceable confidants, providing an additional angle to her story for players to follow.
One big reason for Hifumi being one ofPersona 5’s best Confidantsis her likable nature. Hifumi has a naturally calm and reserved personality, and despite her fame, she’s largely free of any egotistical traits. In fact, getting rich and famous isn’t even her main motivation for being a shogi player. Rather, she just wants to make a living playing a game that she loves. Despite her usual demeanor, she has a tendency to get unexpectedly animated during games, giving her an amusing quirk. Hifumi’s cool and level head not only makes her a good shogi player, it also makes her a solid Confidant.
