Textures inCall of Duty: Warzoneseems to be acting weird once again. Similar to whenWarzonerifles were being turned into dogs, throwing knives keep appearing as a strange red button. Although it does not affect the usability of the knife, it does make players wonder what this model is coming from.
Model swaps are not an uncommonbug in games likeCall of Duty: Warzonethat randomly places gear. All it takes to trigger this type of bug is a mistake by the game’s servers when reading an item’s model code. Still, this button is unlike any that fans have seen within the game, making many players wonder where the model originates from.

In an image posted by Reddit user CreativeAnalytics, the strange button can be clearly seen. Although the label reads EHV Throwing Knife, the base is of a small red button set upon a caution wrapped square. This is the type of button that is used in shut off points, server lockdowns, and missile launches. The signature design is unmistakable, with many fans theorizing that it originates from one of the many bunkers inVerdansk. There was anuclear missile discovered during theCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold Warpuzzle hunt, and this button could be part of that console manifesting randomly across the map.
Similar tothe dog gunWarzoneglitch, when a player picks up the item it changes back to the proper model. Still, if the item is dropped once again it will revert back into a button which can become very confusing to those who have not seen it before.
The weapon it is supposed to be is asmallWarzonethrowing knifethat will electrocute anyone that it impacts. This is one of two throwing knife variants added to the game with the other featuring a drilling action.
In the comments, severalplayers report other strange texture and model issuesthat are still prominent in the game. From fences not rendering to a Kilo appearing as a wood grain AK47, there are several problems that still need to be resolved.
Some fans believe that the button may just be a stand-in model used during development. While the model should have been swapped during the patch, sometimes they revert back to standards when the code is not written correctly. Players are expecting the button to be repaired in a small patch within the next few days.
