Following the release ofValheim’s Hearth & Home update this past September, developer Iron Gate AB has dedicated its focus to the development of a new biome, the Mistlands. The Mistlands is yet to receive a release date, but Iron Gate continues to offer up small reveals and teasers as work progresses onValheim’s next update. The latest example was shared recently and featured a look at certain ruined structures from a mysteriousValheimcivilization found deep within the Mistlands. Two images were shared via an update toValheim’s Steam profile said to be new structures found within theupcoming Mistlands biome. Iron Gate describes the Mistlands as a location where past civilizations built both homes and strongholds. The two images offer a glimpse of that. The first image looks like a stone home of some kind. The second image appears to be an aqueduct with tall pillars holding it up in the sky. Both images feature backgrounds filled with mist, naturally.RELATED:Valheim Player Makes Incredible Elden Ring RecreationIron Gate also teases that there’s something more to the teaser images than meets the eye. In a post on Twitter featuring one of the Mistlands images, Iron Gate asks “Who might have lived in the Mistlands once upon a time?” It’s possible thatValheimplayerswill get to meet these people, or perhaps what caused their demise. At the very least, Iron Gate will hopefully provide inside into what happened in the Mistlands that made it the way it is now.

The Steam post regarding the Mistlands update does mention thatIron Gateis currently working on the inhabitants of the Mistlands. It doesn’t mention what those inhabitants will be, however, outside of a rabbit that was previously teased for Easter. Iron Gate is unwilling to share any more information regarding these Mistlands denizens, though, saying instead that it wants to keep them as a surprise for “a little longer.”

While no overt information is provided, Iron Gate does provide a clue forValheimplayers to ponder. Iron Gate says that the inhabitants of the Mistlands are something that many players “have been curious about.” Given the stonework of the structures shown inValheims' new pictures, some players speculateIron Gate could be talking about dwarves.

This is the way that Iron Gate likes to tease its upcomingValheimupdates, however. It wants players todiscover new content by playingValheim, rather than through screenshots and trailers. It makes the world ofValheimthat much more exciting to explore. There’s no release date for the Mistlands update yet, butValheimplayers are certainly anxious for more information whenever Iron Gate decides to share it.
