Player Mistakes
Back to All Characters
Genshin Impact’s Bennett is probablyone of the unluckiest peoplein Teyvat. This terrible luck seems to start ever since he was a baby, as he was foundalone by an adventurer. Bennett was brought safely to Mondstadt, but the person who saved him didn’t share the fortunate fate. Ever since then, Bennett has beenraised by the members of the Adventurers' Guild. It’s hard to consider him cursed when he’s surrounded by all these blessings. Or perhaps, he is a lucky one after all.

Bennett is a 4-star Pyro character inGenshin Impact. He is an amazing support for the team, with a lot of utility and high flexibility. However, his ease of use might have led to some mistakes when using him. These aresome of the most common mistakesplayers might make.
Updated July 12, 2025 by Nahda Nabiilah:With the vast amount of new content in Genshin Impact through updates such as the 2.1 release, a lot has changed since the launch of miHoYo’s title. From new meta to fresh enemies, players are facing constant developments in the game. Luckily, for Bennett, his versatility allows him to remain a major part of the meta. However, there are some new things to note all the same so that people can get the most out of Genshin Impact’s 4-star Pyro character, Bennett.
14Giving Him Attack Artifacts to Improve His Attack Buff
Bennett’s burst boosts teammates' attack by a percentage of his base attack. Players might misunderstand this skill and build him with a lot of attack to add to this buff.
This is not right because the calculation does not include Bennett’s additional attack. The stat considered on his burst is only his base attack and his weapon’s base attack. Therefore, putting attack artifacts on Bennett will do nothing except improving his attack damage. Unless players are using him as a DPS, this stat will be a waste.
13Not Pairing Him With Sucrose
Sucrose and Bennett make for a powerful duo. With these two characters in the team, players can aim to one-shot most bosses. Bennett offers an attack buff while Sucrose gives an Elemental Mastery buff.
Sucrose can also be replaced with Kazuha, a similar Anemo support that also buffs his teammates. Furthermore, players can also consider adding Mona to the team. Mona grants a damage bonus when she uses her burst, allowing the team to deal higher damage to enemies affected by herOmen.
12Not Utilizing Pyro Resonance
It is almost unfair that Bennett is a Pyro character. Not only can he provides a massive attack buff, but he also allows easy access to Pyro Resonance. Pyro Resonance can be obtained by having two Pyro characters in the party. The whole team will get a +25% Attack bonus because of it.
InGenshin Impact2.1, a new attack buffer, Kujou Sara, was released. While Kujou Sara is an amazing support herself, she’s clouded by Bennett because using him means players are one step closer to Pyro Resonance. Electro characters like Kujou Sara, on the other hand, can only bring the niche Electro Resonance.
11Building Him As A Main DPS
Players can use any character as a DPS. For example, Barbara can become a DPS assuming she has overpowered artifacts equipped. Because of this, some players might try building Bennett with Crimson Witch artifacts in hope that he can be viable as DPS. Some people might also try other offensive artifacts like Gladiator’s Finale.
Bennett’s damage isn’t bad, but this potential is easily overshadowed by a lot of other characters. His supportive ability, on the other hand, is incomparable to anyone.
10Not Building Him With The Right Stats
Building Bennett is not hard, yet a lot of players don’t give him the right stats that he needs. This may be because Bennett performs greatly in any build.

The truth is, the right artifacts and stats are important to get the maximum out of Bennett. The priority of building his artifacts should be on his HP, then on his Energy Recharge. It will maximize his healing while allowing him to keep bursting non-stop. This endless burst will be highly beneficial for the party’s damage dealing.
9Upgrading Him To C6
The problem with Bennett’s C6 is that it will change his playstyle completely. After unlocking his 6th constellation, teammates who wield swords, claymores, and polearms will have their weapon infused by Pyro when they’re inside Bennett’s burst field.
It’s not so bad if theplayers' main DPS is Dilucor Hu Tao. It also won’t affect the players too much if their main DPS is a catalyst or bow character. However, Bennett’s role will be limited to those kinds of characters, reducing his flexibility.
8Using His Burst in the Wrong Situations
Bennett’s burst has an amazing healing capability. As a result, players tend to use him in every situation, but this is not very wise. His burst marks the characters with Pyro, which can lead to complications against certain enemies. For example, using his burst against Electro Cicin Mage can cause overload on the player’s character, throwing them away.

Some people use Bennett’s burst to increase their main DPS' damage without noticing their current HP. If their HP is lower than 70%, Bennett’s bursts will heal them before boosting their damage. However, Bennett’s first constellation will remove this condition.
7Giving Him 2-Noblesse or Maiden Beloved
4-Noblesse Oblige is probably the best set for Bennett. 2-Noblesse isn’t useful, and that’s what most players did wrong. The effect of 2 pieces of Noblesse is increasing the damage of his burst. But his burst barely even deals damage, making this set useless. 4-Noblesse, on the other hand, will further increase his damage buff each time he uses his burst.
As for Maiden, it isn’t bad but isn’t very beneficial at the same time. His burst’s healing is already excessive,so extra healing from Maidenis unnecessary. This artifact is fine to use, but players shouldn’t focus on it too much.
6Not Using His Skill
Bennett has Energy Recharge as his ascension bonus. After his final ascension, he’ll have a 126.7% Energy Recharge. This design is most likely intentional to help Bennett perform in his burst-support role.
But just because Bennett’s main feature is his burst, does not mean players should ignore his skill. After unlocking both of his passive, his tap skill’s cooldown will go down from 5 to 2 seconds when his burst is active. Therefore, players will be able to spam this skill in situations where Pyro application is needed. For example, using his tap skill to break Cryo Abyss Mage’s shield.
5Not Using Bennett as a Battery
A battery is when a character can create a lot of energy or elemental particles. This allows characters that need a lot of energy to refill their elemental burst faster. Bennett’s skill can generate a decent amount of particles, and it has a low cooldown. This is highly useful for characters that have an energy issue.
For example, players are advised touse Energy Recharge with Xianglingbecause she has a demanding energy requirement. With Bennett, players can focus on Xiangling’s damage without worrying about her energy.
