Minecraftlets players unleash their imagination by giving them different materials to build structures and protect themselves from zombies and other hostile mobs. The game has been wildly successful, and this is partially due to how often it receives updates that expand what players can do and what mobs they may come across. In late 2021,Minecraftreceived the Caves & Cliffs Part 2 update, which added eight new biomes, and there are still plenty more updates players can look forward to in 2022.

Mojang will be releasing The Wild update, which adds lots ofnew content toMinecraft. It is geared toward players looking to explore the scarier side of nature, and it is an update to keep an eye on because of the interesting mobs that it will add.

New Biomes of The Wild

One of the most interesting additions The Wild will bring is moreMinecraftbiomes, which will allow players to explore new environments, spot new mobs, and mine new materials. The Wild will bring two biomes, namely Mangrove Swamps and the Deep Dark.

Mangrove Swamps, as one might guess from the name, will feature mangrove trees with wood that can be used for building. Players can also use the swamp to mine mud blocks for crafting. The Deep Dark goes subsurface. It is an underground biome that occasionally features the ancient ruins of old civilizations, but only the daring should explore the Deep Dark, as hostile mobs may be awaiting them.

New Mobs of The Wild

As players areexploring the world ofMinecraft, they will occasionally come across mobs, which is a term that refers to any mobile entities. Some are harmless and help make the world prettier, but others are hostile and are best avoided. With The Wild update, players will have to contend with a couple of new mobs that will be thrown into the game.

The Mangrove Swamps will need some creatures to inhabit it. Fortunately,Mojang has thought of that already, and it will be introducing frogs to the Mangrove Swamp biome. Frogs in the game will begin life as tadpoles, and they will morph into one of three different frogs depending on where they grow up. Mangrove Swamps will also have fireflies, which will be one of the smallest mobs in the game and will serve as the perfect snack for frogs. As for The Deep Dark, it will be inhabited by Wardens. Although Wardens are scary, they are also blind, which makes it possible for players to sneak around them.

The Allay, a very special mob, will also be coming inMinecraft’s The Wild update. The Allay was voted into the game during 2021’s Minecraft Mob Vote, which allowed gamers to pick a new mob to add to the game. It is useful to have an Allay around because it is friendly and it has several helpful abilities. If players give an Allay an item, it will collect more of the same or similar items. The Allay is also a big music fan, and there are any note blocks nearby, the Allay will leave collected items near them.

Sound Will Play a Bigger Role With The Wild

After The Wild update, sound will play amuch bigger role inMinecraft. As players waltz through the world, their actions will cause sonic vibrations that can be heard by certain mobs like Wardens or detected by sculk sensors. Consequently, players will have to consider the noise actions like using tools, eating, and walking will make and whether their actions will rouse some unfriendly mobs nearby.

WithMinecraftstill frequently topping sales charts, the game’s momentum seems to be far from finished. Through The Wild update,Minecraftplayers will get to explorefresh biomes, interacting with new mobs both friendly and fierce.

Minecraftis available now on mobile, PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
