However, Collins-Levy was not the first actor tobe cast as the ultimateWitchervillain. It was originally reported that actor Sam Hazeldine was to play the role of Eredin instead. There could be several reasons as to why Collins-Levy was given the role in the end.Blood Originis supposed to take place 1200 years before the original series, so time will most likely be a big part of the show.Actor Hazeldine has been mentioned as having a very small cameo in the second season ofThe Witcher. Since he has been somewhat a part of the series, his being cast in the prequel originally is not that surprising. However, the reason for this sudden shift in actors could have been implemented due to time jumps. Therefore, it makes much more sense that Hazeldine will be playing an older version of the notorious villain while Levy fulfills the main role as a younger man.
The decision to re-cast the character of Eredin may speak volumes as to what fans can expect from him inBlood Origin. On the other hand, it may have been something as minuscule as a change or conflict regarding scheduling. Either way, the strategic emphasis on the character of Eredin gives fans further confirmation of just how much significance he will have in the prequel.
Eredin will definitely beknown to fans ofThe Witcher 3,but some avid fans of the series may have little to no knowledge of the villain. In the game, Eredin is referred to as the “king of the wild hunt” - which basically means he is in charge of an entire pack of vicious warriors. He inherited all of his power by capturing Ciri and stealing her magical gifts in order to carry out his conniving plans.
