When it comes to apartments, the moving process will be slightly different from the normal one since each apartment is basically a couple of rooms stuck together. This means that you have the option to move the entire building to another World in The Sims 4 or move only certain rooms.
How To Move Houses In The Sims 4
There are four meanings tomove housesinThe Sims 4; Changing the house’s location, repositioning the house, moving the household, and moving the house to a different World. Other than moving houses, it’s possible to only move a specific or multiple rooms to another build inThe Sims 4.
Changing The House’s Location
To change the house’s location, enter Build Mode and select the Save To My Library option from the top middle screen (shaped like a folder with an arrow). After that, go to Menu, Manage Worlds, Gallery, select the saved house, and choose a lot to place it on.
The lot must be the same exact size as the house, so for example, if it’s 20x15 then the lot has to be 20x15. It can be bigger, but it will leave players with much extra space. Simmers can also replace an unoccupied house with the saved lot. For those who wish to change the location of an uninhabited house to another World inThe Sims 4, simply move anyone in and repeat the steps mentioned above.
Possessingirreplaceable itemsin the house like paintings or upgraded items (thanks to some extraHandiness Skill inThe Sims 4)won’t staywith the family once it moves out. So, open the Inventory in Build Mode, thenput every important object that cannot be replaced.
Repositioning The House
While in Build Mode inThe Sims 4, choose the Move House option from the top-middle screen, which looks like a plus-sign (+). Here, Simmers have the option to either reposition the house or the lot. It gives much freedom while building or fixing a home, as there’s an option to move or rotate.
Moving The House To A Different World

Sometimes, players will find the perfect house with the right number of rooms and bathrooms. One small problem, however, is that the house might be in the wrong World. For instance, Strangerville is not an ideal place to live if players don’t plan on solving the World’s mystery, as they will encounter many Townies walking creepily and talking about the ‘Mother’.
Move A Room
As players know, creating a house requires building multiple rooms and joining them together. Well, when moving a house inThe Sims 4, Simmers are actually moving all the rooms to another location. Moving a room is similar to how to move a house ora Household inThe Sims 4.
Simply choose the wanted room and save it individually to the Gallery. Next, head to the desired build or an empty lot and open the Gallery. Place the room down next to the other rooms to complete the house. Keep in mind that it’s also possible to simply relocate the room in the same build if Simmers don’t like its original position. Select the desired room and press the+button to move it freely.
How To Move Apartments In the Sims 4
There are certain cases where players findthe perfect apartment on the Gallery inThe Sims 4, but something seems off about the location. Luckily, there are a couple of methods you can follow to move the entire building to a different World. Additionally, Simmers might also like the building location, but simply wants to re-locate one of the apartment’s room to a different one.
How To Move Apartments
Each apartment is divided into multiple residential units in which players can use them to invite some tenants. The process of moving the entire apartment or units on the same lot or different lot is similar to moving houses. Simply choose the one you want to move and press+to relocate it on the lot or save the lot in the Gallery viaSave to My Libraryoption and thenchoose a lot in another World and place it.
How To Move Units
If you only want a certain unit to move, you can’t use the exact same method. That’s because residential units don’t register as a full house, which means it’s a couple of separate rooms stuck together. There are two solutions to this situation and they depend on the unit’s size.If the unit is small and consists of a handful of rooms, move each room, one at a time, to a different location on the lotorsave them separately to the Gallery and place them in the new World.
Concerning the big residential units that are split into numerous rooms, the best solution is to take advantage of the floors. For instance, if the unit has two floors, head to one of them in Buy Mode and remove the walls separating the rooms to make it one big room and relocate it. When you re-position it on the lot, use the wall tool to split the big room into what it used to be. Repeat with the rest of the floors to move the entire unit.
Removing the walls might cause some decorations like mirrors and pictures to get deleted, so use the cheatbb.moveobjects onto keep the items floating in the air.
How To Move Rooms From Apartments
Rooms are exceptionally easy to move in any apartment. Select the desired room and open the dropdown that shows the room’s unit name and simply choose another unit to move it to. The physical re-location is the same as a normal room; select the room and press+to move it.
