When she starts winding up for her next attack, jump to the opposite side and kick the second boulder into her for another round of damage.

Keep repeating the same attack cycle until she goes down: jump/dodge > stun > attack > retreat. This is the safest way to beat General Berude, and how you may unlock the hidden achievement calledWith My Eyes Closedthat requires you to beat her without getting hit.

Defeating General Berude unlocks Berude’s Gauntlet, one of the more powerful tools inThe Rogue Prince of Persia. It allows you to perform a ground slam against multiple enemies. Craft it from the Oasis to add to your random pool for the next run.

General Berude Attack Patterns

General Berude is susceptible to damage throughout the boss fight inThe Rogue Prince of Persia. However, that comes at a great risk of getting hit. You need to know her attack patterns to understand when you can attack and how many attacks to perform before retreating. The following gameplay video gives a rundown on the boss fight, her attacks, and whypatience is key to success inThe Rogue Prince of Persia.

Jump Stomp

She jumps off-screen before landing on your location for a stomp attack. Keep an eye on the ceiling for the prompt to know when to jump out of the way. She also sends out a series of projectiles along the ground in both directions after landing, so be ready to jump or wall-climb to dodge them.

General Berude will tire out at the end of the attack, allowing you to get some hits in.

Ground Pound

She jumps into the air to do a series of ground pounds, the last of which drops two boulders. You can attack her from behind while she is in the air but retreat quickly after one or two hits because the ground pound does damage in a large area around her.

Charge

She charges across the screen with spiked projectiles trailing her. You need to wall-climb and then jump to gain enough distance to dodge both her and her trailing projectiles.

General Berude drops a boulder after colliding with the end of the screen. Use it to stun her to land some more damage.

Projectile Waves

She roars before firing a series of projectiles from one end of the screen. The majority of them will be on the ground. you’re able to jump or wall-climb over them but ensure to crouch to avoid the flying ones.

General Berude will smash her head into the ground afterward to momentarily tire herself out, giving you another window of opportunity.

Phase Two

When General Berude drops to 50 percent health inThe Rogue Prince of Persia, she gains two shields to become immune to all damage for a few seconds. She will also destroy part of the wall on the back, but it should not make it any difficult to wall-climb over her attacks.

General Berude does not gain any new attacks in the second phase of the fight, but her attacks do come out faster. In particular, watch out for the projectile waves because they are a lot faster and larger.
