The Last of Us 2may have caused some controversy due to its bold storytelling decisions, but there is a large audience that adores the award-winning Naughty Dog title. As such, artistic members of this fan base regularly shareThe Last of Us 2artwork, and Ellie is often placed at the center of a lot of pieces.
The Last of Us 2fans have shared Ellie artwork that shows the character inside a snow globe, posters that embrace her relationship with Dina, or paintings that imaginehow Ellie could look inThe Last of Us 3. Some art focuses on specific moments, too, with a recent piece from Twitter user @dianmzhang going this route. Posted one week ago, this artwork went viral for its eyecatching neon color scheme, something that one would not expect to see associated with the scene the artist focused on.

The artist perfectly captures the look on Ellie’s face when she is interrogating Nora, with a distinct frown being visible. The moment serves as a great way to illustrate how much revenge costs Ellie and how she is not able to carry out acts of cruelty as easily asJoel, and forcing players to press the button to deliver hits is a brilliant choice on Naughty Dog’s part. With this scene being unforgettable, it makes sense to honor it through artwork, and @diannzhang deserves all the praise they are getting for doing so.
As mentioned earlier, what makes the “I made her talk” piece so special is the color palette used by the Twitter user. Ellie’s flashlight is yellow, while the rest of her is colored red - capturing the red light seen in the room whereEllie kills Nora. The background features a bright blue light, with a green light present on the bottom. These both add to the neon aesthetic, as do the small blue dots inside Ellie’s eyes. With a weapon seen on her back and both her outfit and hairstyle matching the in-game model perfectly, there are many details to appreciate.
It will be interesting to see what the future holds for Ellie, as while there are rumors about a third game, the sequel served as a terrific stopping point for her story. Fans know they will be seeing the young version of Ellie again, at least, asThe Last of Uson HBOis set to release next year. Alongside this television series, a remake of the firstThe Last of Usgame was leaked by reputable sources, though nothing official has been announced.
With so manymemorable moments fromThe Last of Us 2to adapt, it would be great to see this become a proper art series from @dianmzhang. Regardless, fans will always have this spectacular piece to appreciate.
The Last of Us 2is available now on PS4.
