Though the melee combat inHorizon Forbidden Westcan at times feel a little samey, the huge variety of weapons on offer in the game ensures that ranged combat always feels fresh. There are nine weapon types in total, each of which is broken up into five different rarity levels. These range from Common, which, unsurprisingly, perhaps, tend to be pretty basic, right up to the incredibly powerful Legendary weapons.

When players first begin their journey into the forbidden west, they’ll mainly be using Common and Uncommon weapons. As the story progresses though, they’ll gradually gain access to Legendary weapons, which, as the name might suggest, are the best weapons inHorizon Forbidden West. As well as having higher stats than their non-Legendary counterparts, each one boasts four or five perks and can be equipped with as many as five coils once it’s been fully upgraded.
