Starfield In 2021 And Fallout 4 In 2015

Originally announced back in 2018,Starfieldhas gone quiet for a very long time, with the most valuable information beinglast year’s leaked screenshots. The studio’s first new IP in over 25 years,Starfieldis the subject of huge fan expectations and hype. Fan speculation has spread regarding a 2021 release date, with the latest and most plausible rumor being ZeniMax updating its website to show a copyright date of 2021. This might sound ironic considering the release cycles of most hyped-up AAA games, but Bethesda is seemingly retreading its steps with such a move.

Fallout 4was announced during E3 2015, and the release date was later revealed to be November 11 the very same year. Fans were shocked and delighted to see such an announcement, and the move did help Bethesda by generating huge amounts of hype consistently in a short time interval. With fans eager to see what’s new in store following the Bethesda acquisition,Starfieldmaking such a move (if it is ready) would be great.

Some Pros and Cons

Starfieldreleasing this year following an E3 revealwill undoubtedly be huge, but it does come with its own sets of pros and cons. The biggest of them seems to be regarding Microsoft reportedly securing another big-name exclusive this year, sinceStarfieldis rumored to be an Xbox exclusive. This would put Microsoft in a great spot, giving fans a glimpse of what’s looming over the horizon while simultaneously convincing many Bethesda fans to get an Xbox console this generation. There’s a lot more to it, asStarfieldandHalo Infinitewould set a high bar for future momentum in Microsoft’s ever-increasing first-party offerings.

However, there is also a possibility of a rushed development with such a close release date. It’s most likely thatStarfieldis being actively worked on, and releasing the game of such a magnitude within such close proximity to its “reveal” might create problems.Fallout 4also had somewhat of a buggy launchwhich isn’t surprising considering the scope of the game, but such a possibility cannot be denied withStarfieldparticularly in light of problems stemming from the pandemic.

Regardless of whetherStarfieldactually makes it out this year or not, there’s a high possibility that fans may see the game in all its glory during this year’s E3. The studios' other mammoth,The Elder Scrolls 6is quite some ways away so fans should not expect information on the game anytime soon.
