As hospitable as he is, Gus has exquisite taste and appreciates thoughtful gifts, like all other villagers inStardew Valley. Similar to otherNPCs in the game, players can give him up totwo gifts per weekwhich can either increase or decrease his Friendship level with the player depending upon the gift. An additional present can be given on his birthday, which falls onSummer Eightand haseight timesthe usual effect on Friendship.

A Diamond is a precious gemstone that players can obtain through various means inStardew Valley. This item can be extracted fromDiamond Nodes on Levels 50+of the Mines andGem Nodesthat can be found onany floorin the Mines. Diamonds may also be dropped when players kill any Monster once they reach the bottom of the Mines.
Diamonds may occasionally appearinside Fishing Treasure Chestsor be obtained by Panning. When players reach the bottom of the Mines, they may even be found inside Garbage Cans. There is also a0.1% chancefor aWilderness Golemto drop a diamond when killed.
Escargot
Escargotis a delicious-cooked dish consisting of butter-soaked snails. These snails are cooked to perfection and need to be prepared inside the kitchen of an upgraded farmhouse in the game. Players may also use a Cookout Kit to prepare Escargot. The recipe for this culinary delight is sent in the Mail byWillywhen players reach afive-heartfriendshipwith him. The ingredients required areone Snail and one Garlic.
Fish Taco
Fish Tacos are a delightful combination of flavors and textures inStardew Valley. AFish Taconeeds to be cooked inside akitchen that comes with an upgraded Farmhouse. The recipe for this tasty treat is received in the Mail byLinuswhen players reach aseven-heartfriendship with him. The ingredients required areone Tuna, one Tortilla, one Red Cabbage, and one Mayonnaise.
Players can also buy Fish Tacos from Krobus’s Shop on Saturdays for50–500 gold.They are also available in the Stardrop Saloon’s rotating stock for1,000 goldandoccasionally at the Traveling Cartfor1,500-2,500 gold.
Orange
Orangesare a juicy and tangy fruit grown on Orange Trees. To grow an Orange Tree, players need to plant anOrange Saplingand wait for28 days. The tree only bearsfruit in theSummer.AnOrange Saplingcan be purchased at Pierre’s General Store for4,000 goldand is occasionally found at the Traveling Cart for3,000–5,000 gold.
Players can also purchase an Orange from the Traveling Cart for300–1,000 goldon rare occasions. Unfortunately, they are not sold anywhere else in the game.
Tropical Curry
TheTropical Curry, served in a pineapple bowl, is a culinary masterpiece inStardew Valley. This exotic curry is a cooked dish that is prepared inside the kitchen of an upgraded farmhouse or by using a Cookout Kit. The recipe for this fragrant dish can be purchased atGinger Island’s Beach Resortfor2,000 gold.The ingredients required are1 Coconut, 1 Pineapple, and 1 Hot Pepper.
Gus’ Liked Gifts
The only option for players who haven’t yet unlocked the Kitchen, and can’t wait until Summer to grab some Oranges is to give Gus something he really likes. IncludingAll Universally LikedGifts (except Coleslaw, which he absolutely hates), Gus likes being gifted Daffodils. When he receives something he likes, Gus exclaims “Oh goodness! Are you sure?”
Daffodils
Daffodilsare traditional spring flowers that make a terrific gift for Gus. These delicate yellow flowers hold the power to brighten up anyone’s day.Players can find Daffodilsby Foraging through the Valley during Springtime. There is a100% chancefor players to get their hands on Daffodils by Foraging through Pelican Town. Daffodils can also be grown from Spring Seeds. However, to grow and forage Daffodils, players need to achieveForaging Level 1.

Unfortunately, Daffodils are not sold in any of the shops around Pelican Town. There is only one special occasion where players can purchase them –The Flower Dance Festival.
