The Zeltron species has been a part ofStar Warscanon for a long time. They first appeared inMarvel’s original 1977 line ofStar Warscomics with a character named Dani, a master thief whobriefly had a romantic interest in Luke Skywalker. A few other Zeltrons would also make appearances in the same comic run, such as Bahb, Jahn, Rahul, and Marruc- a group of rebels who worked with Princess Leia. Since then, they have made a few other appearances.Knights of the Old Repoublic 2had a Zeltron named Luxa as a minor antagonist. TheLegacycomic also introduced Deliah Blue, a Zeltron mechanic who aided one of Luke’s descendants against Darth Krayt. The junior novelJoin the Resistancere-introduced them to canon, with a Zeltron named Lorica Demaris being a major character.

Like manyStar Warsraces, Zeltrons are humanoid in appearance, but have some notably distinctive features. The most obvious is their skin tone, which mostly encompasses different shades of red. Hair can vary in color, but it is commonly either red or blue. Beyond that they have a strange habit of wearing extremely revealing clothes - probably rooted in the obvious influence of the “green-skinned space babe” cliche - and have some unusual anatomical quirks. Admittedly the Zeltrons are not as widely shown as other species, and they are certainly not as iconic as twi’leks,wookies, rodians, or togruta; and the information available on them is limited at best. But this has not stopped them from leaving an impact in theStar Warsuniverse with what has been established.
5They Are Often Heavy Drinkers
One of the unique biological perks that come with Zeltron anatomy is having two livers, unlike humans who only have one. The liver’s main function is to filter substances consumed by the body, but it can quickly be overwhelmed and damaged through excessive consumption of alcohol. This tends to result in liver disease which can sometimes be fatal, and may require a full liver transplant to be properly treated. Having two gives Zeltrons an advantage, as it makes their bodies a lot more resistant to the effects of alcohol.
The exact science behind it has not been definitively established, but it is probably because the task of filtering is split between two organs instead of one making them harder to be overwhelmed. It is also possible that one liver can act as a backup reducing the impact of liver disease if the other should fail.Regardless, this specific trait meant that Zeltrons coulddrink a lot more alcohol than other races. Amounts that might knock out a human, twi’lek, or miraluka will barely affect a Zeltron. Getting a Zeltron drunk is very difficult.
4They Are Big Eaters
In addition to having two livers, Zeltrons have another biological perk in the form of an unusual metabolism, the process by which food is broken down into energy. The exact speed can vary between individuals and species, but Zeltrons are known to have an unusually fast one.
Food gets broken down really fast in a Zeltron’s stomach, so quickly it easily leaves room for more. This gives them the fun trait of being able to not only drink, but also eata lot more than other races. Even better, they can do so without any of the health risks others might experience from overeating.
3They Can Feel Others' Emotions
Zeltrons have a unique ability compared to other races- a limited form of telepathy that allows them a glimpse into the minds of others. While they cannot actually see the thoughts of a given person, they can sense the emotions experienced by others around them, similar to Betazoids inStar Trek. This makes them an extremely emotion-driven race, which has also left an impact on their society. Zeltrons often valued positive emotions over negative ones.

A lot of Zeltron society is based around trying to fuel happiness while pushing out depression and anger. Their home world was known to feel like one giant ongoing party, and actually became a well-known tourist destination because of their talent for producing fun activities.
2They Embrace Their Sexuality
While many races in theStar Warsgalaxy are commonly seen as attractive and have an unfortunate history of objectification, few are willing to embrace that image as much as Zeltrons. One pattern some viewers may notice is a strange habit the species has of wearing revealing clothes.
It is not unusual to see them wearing thin clothes that show off parts of their body. This is because many Zeltronslike to embrace and express their sexuality.
1They Have Powerful Pheromones
Zeltrons are often seen as one of the most attractive races. This reputation may be enhanced by their fondness for revealing clothes and a tendency to be in excellent physical condition, but it probably has a lot to do with another biological quirk in their anatomy. Zeltron bodies involuntarily release an extremely powerful pheromone known to affect the behavior of most species.
Individuals exposed to Zeltron pheromones often feel relaxed, and find themselves more drawn to members of the species - at least until the effects wear off. This ability has actually protected their home world on multiple occasions. Attempts to invade or conquer Zeltros were often thwarted when occupying forces landed on the planet and were overtaken by exposure to the pheromones.
