Ubisoft announced a newStar Warsgame during the Xbox Games Showcase in June 2023. TitledStar Wars Outlaws, the open-world RPG follows a new character in theStar Warsfranchise: a smuggler called Kay Vess. She’s quickly becomeone of the galaxy’s most wanted, alongside her Merqaal companion, Nix, as they decide to take on one of the biggest heists in the Outer Rim Territories.

Developed by Respawn Entertainment, the single-player narrative kickstarted the resurgence of single-playerStar Warsgames in the franchise, introducing a brand-new character for fans and players to vibe with.Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Ordertakes place five years after the events ofRevenge of the Sith, and follows Jedi Padawan Cal Kestis as he unwittinglybecomes Darth Vader’s prey, and a target of the Galactic Empire after spending years in hiding. As Cal still needs to complete his Jedi training, players are encouraged to finish this quest by mastering new gameplay mechanics and re-learning the Force.
Fallen Orderfollows a linear gameplay structure, with players locked to visiting five planets across the universe. Cal meets various new and returning characters along the way, including BD-1 and Nightsister Merrin, in addition to formidable members of the Sith.

WhileStar Wars: Bounty Hunteris a little dated, the gameplay is entertaining enough to keep players involved in the story, like learning how Jango came to pilot his iconic Firespray ship and utilizing his many skills to get the job done. In the game, Sith Lord Darth Tyranus contracts Jango to kill Dark Jedi Komari Vosa while dealing with various crime syndicates.

Debuting in 2011,Star Wars: The Old Republicis a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) still active today.Star Wars: The Old Republicregularly receives updates. Star Wars Jedi: Survivoris the latest game in the franchise’s video game canon and is a direct sequel toFallen Order.Star Wars Jedi: Survivortakes place five years after the first game, and involves Cal regrouping with his old crew to take on a new adventure in the galaxy, which involves finding a long-forgotten place ofvast importance to the Jedi.

The game is still locked to specific planets (six, in this case), but Koboh gives players a little taste of what an open-worldStar Warsgame likeOutlawsmay be like. Players will spend most of their time on Koboh, as the planet can only be fully explored once Cal has progressed in the skills necessary to unlock certain areas. Even thoughJedi SurvivorandOutlawsare made by different developers, it acts as the perfect bridge for players as they are introduced to Kay Vess in 2024.
