A hilarious clip shows whySons of the Forestplayers may want to think twice about the tasks they ask companion Kelvin to complete in the early access survival game. Kelvin is unfortunately injured early on inSons of the Forest, making it so players can only communicate with him using written instructions on a notepad.

InSons of the Forest, players have a notepad that lets them issue commands to Kelvin. Kelvin will complete the tasks asked of him, though players also have to ask him to take breaks periodically if they want to get the most out of his labor.Kelvin has become quite popular in theSons of the Forestcommunityfor his hilarious thumbs up reactions after completing tasks, even when said task has clearly ended in disaster.

An example of this was seen in a stream by Twitch streamer SWOL, also known as superswoldier on TikTok. In the clip, SWOL can be seen building a treehouse shelter inSons of the Forest, but decides to let Kelvin finish the job. SWOL gives Kelvin the instruction to finishbuilding theSons of the Foreststructure. After receiving the instructions, Kelvin begins hitting the tree with an axe. This causes the entire structure to collapse, with massive logs falling down on the player and Kelvin. Kelvin stands amid the fallen logs and gives a thumbs up before sitting down and taking a break among the wreckage.

It’s possible that Kelvin’s erratic behavior will be refined over time.Sons of the Forestis an early access game, and so the developers will be releasing regular updates to improve the overall experience. It seems like a safe bet that a version of Kelvin that more effectively follows instructions will be near the top of the list of things the developers want to implement in the game, but then again, his strange behavior has propelled him to stardom in the game’s community.

Ultimately, the decision was made to release the game in early access soSons of the Forestwouldn’t suffer any further release date delays. As is expected with early access games, there have been some hiccups in terms of performance and features, but it has still be well received by fans. In fact,Sons of the Foresthas been a massive success on Steamin its early access state, so it will be interesting to see if the developers are able to keep the momentum going strong leading up to its eventual full launch.
