Not to be beaten,Sonicgrossed $26.3 million in its second weekend and pulled in a total of $107 million domestically.

This is an undeniable win for the fans of video games everywhere as the movies and critics seem to be getting better all around.Detective Pikachu, which is highly regarded as one of the top video game moviesof modern-day, is now paling in comparison toSonic’sstats and reviews. In its opening weekend,Detective Pikachumade a whopping $58 million and grossed around $144 million domestic. As impressive as those numbers are,Sonicappears to be lappingPikachuin its second weekend alone.

This is great news forSonicfans everywhere as it strongly implies there’s a sequel in store for the Blue Blur. All of this to say,Sonicis still leading the pack by a minimum of $19 million andabsolutely crushing it in audience and critic reviews.
