WhileThe Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrimis a much loved game, it is known to have its fair share of bugs and glitches. Even being over a decade old,Skyrimplayers are finding new ways in which the game can break completely or run into issues. From NPCs swimming in mid-air, toRiften’s beggars spinning into the stratosphere,Skyrimhas its fair share of hilarious and ridiculous moments created by glitches. Often, the fanbase just takes these bugs in as part of the generalSkyrimexperience, and can sometimes use these glitches to their advantage.

This was the case for oneSkyrimplayer who posted a clip of their impressive trick on Reddit. The player discovered that by holding onto a Dwemer bowl, they could basically levitate and defy all laws of gravity. Holding an object inSkyrimoccurs when a player holds down the interact button, so as not to add the item into their inventory. This then allows the player to move an object around, albeit rather awkwardly.

The ability to move objects around inSkyrimhas led to hilarious moments. Specifically, fans have been using buckets inSkyrimto effectively blind shopkeeps and steal their wares for years. Fewer fans were aware of the ability to levitate by holding an object. Whether this trick is exclusive to the Dwemer bowl is unknown, but it does seem that whatever object a player wishes to fly with must be able to be held while underneath them.

While the object is under the player, the object will move up alongside the user’s jumping, effectively granting a new floor underneath the Dragonborn. While aSkyrimplayer on PC would be able to float around the world with a console command, or by downloading a mod, this trick allows any gamer to live out their dreams of levitation. It was noted by otherElder Scrollsfans that a Levitation ability was missing fromSkyrim, when it had been available in bothOblivionandMorrowind, with the latter having just celebratedits 20th anniversary.

It is doubtful thatSkyrimintended for this flying trick to replace the Levitation spells available in previous games, but through the power of mods, players can gain access to a multitude of new spells and abilities. Modding inSkyrimhas made the game a different experience since the months following its release. Recently, there’s even been a huge mod that turns the game into aStar Warsexperience.
