If there’s one thing that can be ultimately said aboutThe Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim,it’s that it is a meticulously detailed game. With a high degree of user interactivity and a polished visual aesthetic, manySkyrimplayers that keep coming back for more often find new details they hadn’t seen the first time through. Although, one player has recently witnessed a more comparatively perturbing detail.

Considering how open and expansive the world ofSkyrimis, there’s a lot of minutiae that players can often overlook, even after playing through the game multiple times. For instance, one playernoticed a small, but important, puzzle detail inSkyrimten years after the game’s initial launch. However, this newly discovered detail is unsettling, to say the least.

A Reddit user named NRKY18 came upon a dead Argonian and noticed that the tail was still slightly moving, as though the Argonian was still alive. This could simply be the result of the wind pushing the tail around in the breeze, but seeing asArgoniansare modeled after lizards, some lizard’s tails can still move around on their own long after the lizard is dead. Thus, the developers simply could have been trying to emulate something to that effect.

Either way, for some players it’s still somewhat alarming to see a part of an NPC’s body still moving after death. While there are someglitches inSkyrimthat cause character models to move around sporadically even after death, the subtle movement of the dead Argonian’s tail moving back and forth is certainly different by comparison.

In any case, it’s amazing to see players still noticing these minute details withinSkyrimeven after being out for over a decade. TheSkyrim Anniversary Editionadds a whole lot more content for players to enjoy within the game, but the base version ofSkyrimstill possesses a lot for players to do and discover. In a way, the high amount of contentSkyrimprovides is partly why it has managed to maintain its longevity for so long.

It will be interesting to see what the future holds forThe Elder Scrollsseries moving forward. During E3 2018,The Elder Scrolls 6was announced, but since that time, there has been next to no additional information regarding the game’s development. Admittedly, Bethesda has had a number of different projects to work on, such as the aforementionedSkyrim AnniversaryEditionandStarfield, which is set to release sometime next year.

The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrimis available for PC, PS3, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S.
