There’s a new witch-themed mod forSkyrimthat will appeal to fans of both the 2011 epic RPG andDoctor Who, particularly as the custom content features the latter’s infamous Weeping Angel statues. While it’s definitely not a horror game by any stretch of the imagination,The Elder Scrolls 5does have its creepy moments. Whether exploring Markarth’s Hall of the Dead or seeing the entrance to the Dark Brotherhood sanctuary for the first time, Bethesda’s open-world release can still send shivers down the spine.

While it’s been out for over 11 years at this point, people are still drawn into the cold province of Tamriel. Much of that is down to the number ofinteresting mods created forSkyrim. A dedicated community of fans has seen it fit to keep the game in the best shape it can be by offering up a slew of custom content, including bug fixes, graphical upgrades, quality-of-life tweaks, and many new quests, areas, NPCs, and lines of dialog. Given just how many modifications are still coming out, it’s no wonder many players remain interested in the game.

A recent example comes from Nexus Mods users wSkeever and Kreiste, who have released “Baby Yaga and the Labyrinth.” As spotted by PC Gamer, this witchy mod for the Special Edition ofSkyrimadds a brand-new quest toTES5, as well as a walking hut, a maze, a Witch named Hagnes with 29 lines of dialog generated using ElvenLabs AI speech software, and some Weeping Angels that function in the same way as the ones in the iconic British sci-fi show. According to the mod’s description, the quest can be started by talking to the Bee and Barb innkeeper, who is located in Riften.

Weeping Angels are one of the most well-knownDoctor Whovillains, whose ability to only move when someone either blinks or doesn’t look at them makes them exceptionally creepy. Again, much likeSkyrim, the sci-fi series isn’t technically a horror show, but any fan knows that when these statues appear, it’s almost certainly going to mean a much more hair-raising episode.

As for the game itself, even without mods,Skyrimis still one of the best single-player titles out there. It may have its faults, but its deep lore and gorgeous visuals, though somewhat dated now, have kept Bethesda’s epic in the gaming spotlight for years now. The fact that there are so many committed to improving the game shows just how much love fans have been giving this RPG for the better part of a decade.

The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrimis available for PC, PS3, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
