Borderlands 3was a huge success for 2K Games and developer Gearbox Games. The game successfully became thefastest selling game yet for Gearbox, with it reaching nearly 14 million copies sold by the end of 2021. However, impressive sales don’t necessarily indicate that a game is without flaws.

Borderlands 3had more than its fair share of glitches and performance issues when it launched, and unfortunately, some of those things still linger in the game. Thankfully, in this particular instance, the player was able to get a good laugh out of it, but the shared clip demonstrates how even if it’s funny, glitches during a cutscene can completely undermine the storytelling of the game.Warning: Spoiler for Bounty of Blood follows.

As shared by Redditor Walusqueegee, the video demonstrates a cutscene clip fromBorderlands 3’s Bounty of Blood DLC. The scene shows Butcher Rose in a showdown with the sheriff, in what should be a tense and possibly even shocking moment. However, the mood of the cutscene is completely ruined by the presence of a floating gun. As mentioned, the player manages to get a laugh out of it as the gun goes dancing across the scene in various shots like a ghost, but it also shows how much it’s distracting from a memorable moment in the game.

Unfortunately, this is anything but a new problem. Players have been mentioning and complaining about floating guns in their cutscenes since the game’s debut back in 2019, and the bug remains. Several players have attributed the problem to FL4K, indicating that it’s likely due to his pet, theJabber Sidekick. The pet, rendered invisible during the cutscene, is still moving around while carrying a pistol, but the weapon isn’t correctly set to be invisible like the pet itself. As a result, it looks like a gun is bouncing around on the screen.

Of course, this is a minor bug in comparison to some of the issues that hamperedBorderlands 3at launch. Gearbox Games produced patches and fixes to address the most heinous issues inBorderlands 3, and by and large, it’s a much more stable and enjoyable experience now. One might argue thatBorderlands' overall tone and sense of humormeans that a bouncing gun might not be a big deal, nor the strangest thing one will see over the course of the game.

However, other players simply see a bug that should have been fixed years ago lingering in an AAA game. Video games are rarely flawless, andBorderlands 3has received tons of new contentto keep the game inviting and interesting. Players might just end up being distracted during some of its the best moments by a dancing, floating gun.

Borderlands 3is available now for available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
