Call of Duty: WarzonePacific has had some growing pains, with numerous bugs found as players learn the ins and outs of the new Caldera map. One of the latest is particularly troublesome, though, as it sees aCall of Duty: Warzoneplayer sent to the Gulag for no reason.
As those familiar with the battle royale game will know,Call of Duty: Warzone’s Gulagis a 1v1 arena where eliminated players go to fight for a second chance at life. The mechanic is one of the most unique aspects of the game, as it helps it stand apart from the many other games in the battle royale genre. However, while most gamers enjoy the Gulag and the intensity of the fights that take place there, it is only a good system when it is working as intended.

Unfortunately,Call of Duty: Warzoneplayerand Reddit user Papermetr0 has shared one of the strangest Caldera clips thus far. The first half of the footage is the normal gameplay one would expect to see from aCall of Duty: Warzonegame. The Redditor snipes an opponent, switching to another gun to finish them off. However, as they move up to a building and turn the corner, their screen goes black. Surprisingly, this transitions into the Gulag cutscene, with the player not having died at all.
Unsurprisingly, this shocking footage has left theCall of Duty: Warzonefanbase puzzled, with many unsure of what could have happened. While Redditor thepsychonautarchive argues that the sudden cut to black is comparable to being sniped in real life, and another is shocked by how overpowered theCooper Carbineis, others are upvoting and commenting just so that Raven Software notices. A player being insta-killed by nothing and sent to the Gulag is as game-breaking as it gets, but it is impossible to identify the issue based on this clip alone.
Theories range from a death barrier near the building the player walked around to the Gulag glitching out and pulling the Redditor out of the match so they can be an eliminated player’s opponent. These are just theories, though, as the sudden appearance of the Gulag cutscene is as strange as it gets. Unfortunately,Raven Softwareis plenty busy with other bugs that are impacting the game, so it may take a while for a fix to come. Players are randomly dying when dropping into the map, various ADS bugs are making gameplay difficult, and Krampus is crashing games.
Still, while fixes for things like theinvisible Battle Pass skinare important, hopefully this issue finds itself at the top of the developer’s list. If it begins impacting more players, Raven could be dealing with a lot of frustratedCall of Duty: Warzonefans.
