Sea of Starsis an old-school-style JRPG with a lot of personality. In order to get through some of the trickier puzzles and complete thisstunning pixel art game, players will have to make their way through a tricky location called the Autumn Hills. This location has a lot of puzzles in it that require the use of all the special powers players have gained up until this point. In order to get through the Autumn Hills and defeat the boss of the area, players might need a little bit of help.
The Autumn Hills in Sea of Stars
The Autumn Hills is a beautiful location inSea of Stars. Players will need to head here after chatting with the Immortal Alchemist; he will help them get rid of the bubble surrounding the island and delve deeper. But in order to get to the Mesa on the other side, players will have to complete the many puzzles lined up together in the Autumn Hills location and defeat its Leafy boss.
From the entrance to this area, head past the save point, then follow these steps.
In this area, there will be a person; they have a shop available where players can buy some food, ingredients, and a pretty good weapon for Valere. Climb up onto the platform to the right of this shopkeeper and then climb down the other side. This will lead to the next area of thisSwitch JRPG.
The Graplou Puzzle in Autumn Hills in Sea of Stars
This puzzle is fairly simple. In order to get to theSea of Starstreasure chestand the other side of this area, players will need to use the Mistral Bracelet to move one of the Graplou points. If players head all the way to the right, the final Graplou log is a moveable object; they can use it to get the treasure chest at the bottom of the middle part of this area as well as get up onto the platform to the right.
To the right of this section are a couple of wooden platforms built onto the trunks of trees. Walk behind the first tree with a platform on it, then hop up onto the platforms below the second. Walk to the left-most part of the platform on this tree, then use the Graplou hook to get over to the first tree to the left. Walk as far left as possible on this wooden platform, then aim the Graplou hook north to grab onto the climbable surface on the tree there. Once at the top, the player’s group ofplayableSea of Starscharacterscan head left to grab the Rainbow Conch, then head right across the rope bridge to get to the next area.
Walk as far right as possible, then jump down onto the wooden platform on the tree below. Use the Graplou while facing up to get to the next climbable surface on the tree to the north, then just off this tree platform to get to the next section of the map.
The Waterways of Autumn Hills
Next up, players will need to make their way through the waters. Keep heading right until there is a whirlpool to drop into, which will take players underwater. Go right to get to the next whirlpool. Climb to get out of the water, then walk over the platforms to head right. Open the chest to get a recipe, then head into the next water section and use its whirlpool.
Keep using the whirlpools as they appear until players come up near the same tree where they found the first whirlpool. Climb up the ladder and knock the ladder to the left down to create a shortcut back. Next, head right by jumping from dock to dock, then climbing up to the next Graplou point. This should bring the party to the next section: the Leaf and Root boss.
How to Summon and Defeat the Leaf and Root Boss of Autumn Hills in Sea of Stars
Next up is the boss of the area; keep going right and up until there is a campfire tocookSea of Starssnacksand a save book. There will be a time puzzle at the campsite; use the Solstice Amulet to change the time of day until all the lights of the sun door are lit up. Players can tell if they have the sun’s angle right if they stand quite close to it while changing the time; an interactive arrow will appear above the door when the sun is in the right place.
Go inside the sun door and a cutscene will play in thisclassic JRPG-inspired title. A musician will play a song about a monster of leaf and root, then will leave. Players will then have to use the power of their Mistral Bracelet to blow all the leaves into the center where the pile of branches sits. Once all the leaves are on the pile, change the time of day until the circle around the leaf pile is all lit up.
This will summon the Leaf Boss. In order to deal damage to this monster, players will need to wait until it uses Leaf Throw. This move removes all the Leaf and Root boss' leafy clothing and throws it at the player. It will boomerang back into place a few turns later, so do as much damage as possible while it is naked; someSea of Starscombo attacksare a good way to go. In between throws, make sure to hit the boss with basic attacks to build up mana and get some Magic Without Magic orbs for when the enemy throws its leaves again.
While unconfirmed, some online forums have noted that using the Immortal Alchemist during this fight can cause a bug to break the game. It’s best to avoid using him during this fight at all if possible, so stick with the Solstice Warriors, Sarai, andGarl for thisSea of Starsfight.
