This comes via the Sacred Symbols podcast where Colin Moriarty claimed that this information was given to them by the same person who told them aboutJean-Claude Van Damme’s appearance inMortal Kombat1before the trailer was released. However, fans should take the information with a grain of salt. Additionally, they also claimed that both Fox and Scott are not confirmed to be playable characters, so they could very well appear as character skins just like Van Damme.

Both Megan Fox and Travis Scott are well-versed with the world of gaming, and many believe that their inclusion could work well for the game. For instance, Travis Scott had an in-game concert inFortnitewhich had over 12 million concurrent players at a time. As for Megan Fox, she has been a long-time fan of the franchise, and has alsorevealed her desire to play Kitana in a futureMortal Kombatmovie, which could very well be the role she plays inMortal Kombat 1.

With the introduction of a new Kameo system in the game, players can call upon a partner to assist them during battles, which sounds similar to the system inMarvel vs. Capcom. So far, around five Kameo characters have been confirmed thanks to an Amazon leak which also confirmed a list of all the upcoming DLC characters, which includes Peacemaker, Homelander, and Omni Man. Additionally,Mortal Kombat 1will also have microtransactions in some capacity, where players will get to spend Dragon Crystals most likely for purchasing character skins in the game, but its actual purpose is still unknown. Pre-ordering the game on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S will give players access to the beta scheduled to drop in August 2023.
