Rocket Leagueis no stranger to crossover events. Since the game’s launch back in 2015,popular companies such as Lamborghinihave brought versions of their vehicles to Psyonix’s game. Recently, the developers announced that a new round of DLC would bring items based off theRatchet and Clankseries to the game.

In a post on the PlayStation Blog, the developers gave a breakdown of theRocket Leaguecrossover withInsomniac Games, the creators ofRatchet and Clank. Items featured in the DLC include theRatchet and ClankPunk Decal for the Octane, Negatron Collider Boost, the Clank Balloon Topper, and the Ratchet Balloon Topper. While the new DLC releases on August 18, fans of the Lombax and his metal friend have until June 09, 2025 to pick up the in-game items. These new items are free, and all players need to do in order to claim them is sign intoRocket Leagueon a PS4 or PS5. Unfortunately, for those playing the game on other platforms, the new content is exclusive to Sony consoles.

Along with this new DLC, players will now be able to view their newRatchet and Clankgear in better quality as Psyonix unveiled a new Video Quality setting for those on PS5.  The setting contains two different presets for players to choose between: Quality and Performance. Quality mode provides 60fps gameplay at 4K resolution along with the inclusion of HDR for compatible displays. Performance downscales the resolution to 2688×1512 but runs the game at 120fps. This means that PS5 players can now finally play the game at higher frame rates, something thatXbox Series X/S playershave been doing for a while now.

It makes sense that the developers would want to bringRatchet and ClankDLC toRocket League. Insomniac Games recently launchedRatchet and Clank: Rift Apartfor the PS5. The third-person shooter platform game lets players control Ratchet along with series newcomer Rivet as they attempt to take down Emperor Nefarious. The game has become one of the most successful games on Sony’s next-gen console. The inclusion of items based on the iconic characters from the series serves to increase hype surrounding both games.

This news comes as Season 4 ofRocket Leagueis under way. In addition to theRatchet and ClankDLC, the developers have added new2v2 and Extra Mode Tournamentsto the game. With the addition of a Desert arena and a new purchasable Rocket Pass, players seem to have no shortage of things to check out in the game.
