Resident Evil Villagehas proven to be another well-received entry in the long-running series.Mods changing the game’s perspective to third-personor adding and subtracting character details are already popping up, a sure sign that players who love a game enough will want to tinker with it themselves.
One of the most beloved parts ofResident Evil Villageis Lady Dimitrescu, one of the game’s main antagonists. Lady Dimitrescu is shockingly tall, with huge claws and a monstrous final form, and could be said to be the answer the question of what a female Tyrant could look like. She lives in a castle, and one TikTok channel discovered a small detail in that castle that adds a lot of personality.

Hidden Gaming Details, a channel dedicated to finding details in video games, stumbled upon a particularly cool one in Castle Dimitrescu. According to the game’s lore, Lady Dimitrescu performed experiments in the basement of her castle, transforming young women into vampiric monstrosities. This leads to the stairs leading to the basement being worn from constant use. However, only every third step is worn down. It’s a testament to the fact that, even asher voice actress gave Lady Dimitrescu personality, the background artists at Capcom were doing the same.
The implication is that Lady Dimitrescu is so tall she takes the stairs three at a time, rendering most of the steps superfluous. It’s a small detail, but one that lends the castle and the character more solidity. So much ofResident Evil Villageis essentially a series of corridors, and despite good gameplay it often feels like that. This detail makes the castle feel lived in, and for all thedetails inResident Evil Villagethat don’t make sense, this small one is surprisingly logical.
Small level details like this may not be new to everyone, but they are always welcome sights when discovered and publicized. Constructing a video game level typically means a focus on gameplay first and the look of the level second. Despitethe development ofResident Evil Villagebeing impacted by COVID-19, it’s nice that details like this were not skimped on.
Lady Dimitrescu has become something of an icon forResident Evil Village, though she is not in it for very long. There have already been severalcosplays of Lady Dimitrescu, and there may well be more details lurking within the game that have not yet been found.
Resident Evil Villageis now available onPC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
