Remedy Entertainment, the video game developer behindAlan WakeandControl, has been busy on the business side of things this year. Recently,Remedy announced it’s working to open a new studio in Sweden, which will allow new game developers to start working on new projects for the developer.
A recent report from Cision reveals a business review forRemedy Entertainmentthat provides updates on some of the studio’s business activities for 2021. The post states that as far as 2021 looks, business for the studio has progressed as planned. This includes the status update on its upcoming game projects, particularlyCrossfire HD Story ModeandCrossfire X.

The company’s CEO Tero Virtala provides some comments on the status of the games' development, especially sinceCrossfire Xhad been delayedlast year. According to the post, the development team forCrossfireHD’sstory mode andCrossfire Xis currently focusing on fine-tuning and polishing all of the technical details. Specifically for the story version of the game, which will provide the best quality and gaming experience.
Virtala said that the games are currently in a launch preparation phase and have “little development work remaining.” He also comments on the launch window for bothCrossfire HD Story ModeandCrossfire X, saying that the game launches are getting closer. However, Virtala states that the exact release dates for both games will be done at the discretion of publisher Smilegate and its publishing partners.
Virtala also provided comments on the development of some of Remedy’s other gaming projects, such as Project Condor by 505 Games and a “biggerControlproject.” He said that both are progressing as planned, and while Condor is still in the proof-of-concept stage, theControlproject is now in the concept stage. He goes on to say that the projects will be expandingControlinto “new games and game types”, and that Remedy will continue to be the co-publisher of the Condor project.
The new project forControlwas mentioned earlier in the post as one of the highlights in the business review for 2021. According to the post, Remedy had signed a co-publishing and development agreement with 505 Games for a multiplayerControlspin-off game this past June. It also states that both companies have already agreed on collaboration terms for a future, bigger-budgetControlgame.
Virtala concluded his comments by stating that he is pleased with Remedy’s progress in the third quarter and throughout the year. He even says that the development teams have performed well in their remote work as the company shifts toward a hybrid work model. The report also states that Remedy Entertainment’s future outlook remains unchanged and that the company expects that its revenue and operating profits will increase during 2021.
