Halloween is right around the corner, and plenty of video games have been gearing up for the holiday’s arrival. Today, Sony shared a surprise launch trailer for the puzzle horror gameStoriesUntoldcoming to the PS4.
Stories Untoldis an episodic horror adventure-puzzle game, the debut work of developer No Code that is published by Devolver Digital. The game was made by the same developers who created thesci-fi puzzle gameObservationin May 2019, where players are an AI trying to save a space station’s crew after a terrible incident.Stories Untoldis a game that blends adventure and horror together into one overarching journey, which is now being brought onto more consoles byDevolver Digital.

The launch trailer forStories Untoldon PS4 was released at the tail end of October. The video first starts off showing a darkly-lit room with a monitor, keyboard, and other tech straight from the 1980s. It gives the viewers a glimpse of the gameplay as the player selects words to form a sentence on the monitor, which follows through on the command. The whole video evokes the 1980s era of entertainment and technology that the game is inspired by, and will likely remind viewers of the popularTV showStranger Thingsbetween its title font, synth music, and 80s nostalgia.
Afterwards, the video shows a variety of positive remarks from a number of game and media websites such as Rock Paper Shotgun, Eurogamer,Game Informer, and others, with gameplay peppered in between them. Viewers get to see a quick preview of what the game has to offer on the PS4, showing off the heightened visuals. The publisher had released the same launch trailer forStories Untolda day before, but this trailer revealed that the game is available on both the PS4 and the Xbox One.
The game originally released in February 2017 for the Mac and Microsoft Windows, and later ported over to Nintendo Switch in January 2020. Now the game will be launching on major consoles, and will be one of severalgames to play for Halloweenbefore the holiday arrives.
