Sony is expected to reveal the essential tierPS Plusgames on September 27, with the games releasing the following Tuesday on October 3. A couple of weeks after that, fans can expect Sony to reveal and release even more games for the PS Plus Extra and Premium catalogs. This does mean that anyone intending to claim thePS Plus free games for September 2023should do so now, but obviously, the games on PS Plus Extra and Premium stay quite a while longer.

Looking ahead to the coming month, many may be curious as to what Sony has in store forPS Plus. It’s near impossible to predict, despite there being a few methods to PS Plus' general madness. One thing fans may want to see though is a collection of horror games for the service, as it would be a good way to celebrate the holiday season of Halloween all October long, but it should be noted that a lot of gaming subscription services are holiday agnostic. Sometimes there are horror games or thematic elements to a month’s releases, but a lot of times, there’s nothing really corresponding between the two. Still, if Sony were to add some horror games, there are quite a few good picks.

Dead Spaceis almost certainly not going to grace the PS Plus games for October 2023 for various reasons, not least of which is the fact that it was released earlier this year, but every reason it won’t is an exciting reason it should.Dead Spacedrove home all the horror elements fans loved of the original, while adding smart touches to the overarching story.Dead Spacepractically received a standing ovation at launch, and it’d be the perfect game to play on a horror-filled October night. Those who did pick it up have that option, but announcing it for PS Plus would be a big deal for the service and the title. It would be a win-win scenario, even if it is an unlikely scenario. Fingers crossed, though.

PS Plus Free Game for October 2023: Little Nightmares 2

The firstLittle Nightmaresgraced PS Plus back in August 2022, so it makes sense to bring the second game into the fold too.Little Nightmares 2isn’t really the scariest “horror” game out there, but it has its moments. It would fit right in with bigger horror games, while serving as a good nod to the season if it were the only title to appear among the three selected. What’s more, withLittle Nightmares 3set to release in 2024, it would be a great way to build up to its eventual release. This puzzle-platform horror adventure game checks so many boxes that its release on PS Plus feels like a matter of when, not if, and the best “when” might just be October 2023.

PS Plus Extra and Premium Wish List for October 2023

Every month, Sony adds nearlytwenty or so games to PS Plus Extra and Premium, meaning any prediction or guess is an utter shot in the dark. To fit the horror theme of October,The Devil in Mewould be a great PS Plus Extra pick as previous games are also available. At the same time, not everything is going to be horror here, so a couple of theTales Ofgames would be a great way to promoteTales of Arise’s Beyond the Dawn DLC. And with a few other genres mixed in, it’s easy to see how this line-up addition next month could be really exciting. Fans will just have to wait and see what Sony has in store for every tier of the PS Plus service.
