Resident Evil 2 Remake

When Capcom released theResident Evil 2remake in January 2019, not only had it already released a top contender for “Game of the Year,” it set a whole new benchmark for what modern-day video game remakes had to live up to. Based on the 1998 game of the same name, the remake swapped out fixed camera angles and tank controls for a modernized third-person shooter control scheme and an"over-the-shoulder" camera, similar toResident Evil 4.

Set two months after the originalResident Evil,Resident Evil 2takes place in Raccoon City and features the first appearance of fan-favourite characters, Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield. Unlike theResident Evil 3remake which followed one year later, one of the best aspects of the game is its level of replayability through multiple campaigns. Players can choose to play as either Leon or Claire, with each campaign featuring unique locations and scenarios, as well as a second playthrough for each character after the main campaign that once again mixes things up.Resident Evil 2is one of the best survival-horror games availableand a great third-person shooter.
