With the ever-expanding genre of simulator games where players can emulate the ordinary lives of truckers, pilots, farmers, or beyond, it’s no surprise that the likes ofPowerWash Simulatorwould crop up.PowerWash Simulatoris one of thosesimulatorgames that really has to be played to be properly understood, as once players enter the flow of methodically cleaning everything and anything, the hours get washed away along with the dirt.
Like many simulator games though,PowerWash Simulatoractually wields an unusual amount of versatility when it comes to what players can actually clean. Some of the game’s wildest levels or jobs can take players to the extremes ofMars just to clean a rover, so to suggest that the sky’s the limit forPowerWash Simulatorwould be an understatement. So with this versatility comes an excellent opportunity for developer FuturLab to reach out to other studios and offer its power washing services, opening the door to crossover DLCs to expand its game even further.

Possible Locations for PowerWash Simulator
PowerWash Simulator’stwo types of levels can be summed up into two categories: locations and vehicles. To this end,PowerWash Simulatorcould visit some iconic locations and settings from other games, ranging from the realistic to the most bizarre. For instance, while FuturLabs could create a level where players cleanCroft Manor ofTomb Raidercanon, it would be even more surreal if the task instead was to clean Peach’s castlefromSuper Mario 64. DLC of such levels could even offer possible secrets and Easter eggs typical of many simulator games, where pipes might lead to secret rooms to recreating Winston getting trapped in Lara’s infamous freezer.
The challenge with finding suitable locations is that not only must these locations be withinPowerWash Simulator’sscope, but it would need the nod of respective developers. With the aforementioned examples, gettingTomb Raiderto agree to a hose down of Croft Manor might be possible sinceSquare Enixhas published both it andPowerWash Simulator, but Nintendo might be more protective of lending its flagship princess’s castle out to an indie studio. More indie titles might be more likely to crossover, but the potential is definitely there.
By expanding the crossover pool to indie games, the potential expands greatly. Plenty of new locations become available toPowerWash Simulator, many of which would be fairly fitting for the services of a power washing company. Candidates for DLC could includeFirewatchand its lookout tower,Stardew Valleyand a recreation of the player’s beginning farm, and so on, making the list endless - so long of course as FuturLab could get creative with how they designed each job.
Possible Vehicles for PowerWash Simulator
As the second type of levelsPowerWash Simulatoroffers, the potential for crossover DLC is not only greater for vehicles, but it’s arguably far easier to drum up possible contenders. For example,Hot WheelsUnleashedhas a breadth of cars to choose from for the player to clean, whileRocket Leagueequally has just as many for possible DLC too. In fact, any vehicle-based game could partner with FuturLab for an expansion of content.
However, for more recognizable, one-of-a-kind types of vehicles, thenPowerWash Simulatorcould go further afield with the likes ofHalo’sWarthog,Batman’sBatmobile,Star Fox’s Arwing,or eventhe Normandy fromMass Effect. The one disadvantage though to using more unique vehicles is that these tend to be associated with bigger developers, and so FuturLabs could run into the same challenges as with possible locations. Given though that the prevalence of racing games on the indie scene offers plentiful ground to work from,PowerWash Simulatorcould have great potential in expanding and paying homage to like-minded games.
PowerWash Simulatoris available now on PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
