APokemon Scarlet and Violetfan showed off a wonderful display of artistry by sharing their clay sculpture of a shiny Great Tusk. The paradox Pokemon is one of 16 introduced inPokemon Scarlet and Violetand is a past form of Donphan, the armor Pokemon.
Introduced inPokemon Gold and Silver, Donphan is the evolved form of Phanpy, the long-nosed Pokemon. Representing the elephant family, Donphan’s long and thick nose covers the center of its face and resembles a car tire, which Donphan utilizes to curl up and use the Rollout move. Its paradox form is meant to showcase Donphan as more of a mammoth, which has drawn a closecomparison to Mamoswine, a fourth-generation Pokemon.

Reddit user Prof-Fluffy shared their most recent work to thePokemon Scarlet and Violetsubreddit, featuring a clay sculpture of Great Tusk in its shiny form. Shiny Great Tusk bears a different color palette compared to its non-shiny form, trading in its grayish-blue body for a shade of green and replacing the red tones with green on both its trunk and legs. Along with the changes, Great Tusk’s trunk itself goes from a dark purple-blue to a more toned-down brown. Luckily for players, encountering and catching Great Tusk isn’t as tough as its intimidating presence, as it can be easily found in Area Zero once the final boss has been defeated. Unfortunately, Great Tusk — along with all other past-form paradox Pokemon — can only be found inPokemon Scarlet.

The Reddit post is nearing one thousand upvotes in just 24 hours, with comments flooding in to praise the artist’s design. “Looks amazing, and on model too,” said one user, applauding the attention to detail on the size scaling of the sculpture. “Make Scream Tail next,” requested another, hoping the Great Tusk design is one of many to come in the future. Some users have gone beyond the limitations of pencil and paper and are using different methods to bring life to Pokemon, such as clay, knitting, and even pipe cleaners.
Paradox form Pokemon in particular have become a hot trend, as the endless amount of possibilities to bring a fresh take on one of the hundreds of Pokemon is attractive to creators. Like Mega Evolutions and Dynamaxing,creating new Paradox Pokemon is rising in popularityon Reddit, and continues to demonstrate just how creative and unique many artists can be, with some even offering lore and full movesets to give their creations an extra layer of originality. With the potential of DLC to arrive inPokemon Scarlet and Violet, fans will remain hopeful for the introduction of more Paradox Pokemon.
