Pokemon GOhas revealed more information about what players can expect from the upcomingPokemon GOFest 2021, and it involves Legendary Pokemon and Raid Battles. A posting onPokemon GO’sofficial website has revealed that almost every Legendary Pokemon will feature in raid battles during the upcoming event.
This year’sPokemon GOFest comes asPokemon GOcelebrates its fifth anniversary with merchandiseand special events. Despite a noticeable dip in popularity since the mobile game was released in 2016 and captured players' attention worldwide,Pokemon GOstill has a very dedicated fan base who will be excited forPokemon GOFest 2021.

The Legendary will start appearing whenPokemon GOFest 2021 begins on Sunday, July 18th, but they won’t appear all at once. The event will be split into four differently themed hours, with each hour repeating once. These hours are “Wind Hour,” “Lava Hour,” “Frost Hour,” and “Thunder Hour.” Different Legendary Pokemon that relate to the hour’s theme will appear in five-star raid battles during each of these hours. The post also mentions that no Mythical Pokemon will appear in five-star raids, so players will need to wait a little longer to learnhow Mythical Pokemon will feature inPokemon GOFest 2021.
During “Wind Hour,” Mewtwo, Ho-Oh, Latias, Latios, Regigigas, Altered Forme Giratina, Cresselia, Virizion, and Therian Forme Tornadus will be available for trainers to battle and catch. In the following “Lava Hour,” Moltres, Entei, Regirock, Groudon, Heatran, Reshiram, Terrakion, Therian Forme Landorus, and Yveltal are featured. Then “Frost Hour” will star Articuno, Suicune, Lugia, Regice, Kyogre, Palkia, and Kyurem in five-star raids. Finally, in the last hour, “Thunder Hour,” trainers can battle and catch Zapdos, Raikou, Registeel, Rayquaza, Dialga, Cobalion, Therian Forme Thundurus, Zekrom, and Xerneas.
Pokemon GOFest 2021’s Legendary Pokemon event will run from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm local time. The “Wind Hour” runs from 10:00 am to 11:00 am and 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm. The following hour will be “Lava Hour,” which will be active from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm and 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Then it will be “Frost Hour” from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm and 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm. “Thunder Hour,” the last of the four sections, begins at 1:00 pm till 2:00 pm and 5:00 pm till 6:00 pm. This event will also be the first event sincePokemon GOchanged its pandemic features.
WhilePokemon GOFest 2021 is definitely an exciting time for players, manyPokemon GOfans are still unhappy with some changesto the game. The community backlash could cast a shadow over the upcoming event, and some players may even boycottPokemon GOFest 2021. Though it is possible that the controversies will have blown over by the start ofPokemon GOFest 2021 or that Niantic may address and fix the issues players have with the changes.
