Pokemon GOhas remained one of the world’s most popular mobile games ever since it first released in 2016, and Niantic has managed to keep the community engaged through constant content updates. There’s always something new to do inPokemon GO, with Niantic recently pulling the curtain back on what fans can look forward to in April 2022.
Niantic’s plans forPokemon GOin April 2022 include a special Community Day that will add a brand-new Pokemon to the mix, not to mention a number of events that are taking place as part of theongoing Season of Alola.

There is plenty forPokemon GOplayers to look forward to next month, so here’s everything they need to know about April 2022.
Pokemon GO April 2022 Community Day
Every month,Pokemon GOplayers have a new Community Day event to look forward to, where they can enjoy dramatically increased spawn rates for certain Pokemon, as well as a greater chance of finding shiny variants of said Pokemon. ThePokemon GOApril 2022 Community Day Pokemonis none other than Stufful, who has never appeared inPokemon GObefore, making it an especially exciting choice for Community Day.
Pokemon GOApril 2022 Community Day will take place on April 23. It will bring with it some changes as Niantic is planning to roll back some of the changes that it made to the gamein response to the COVID-19 pandemic. When the pandemic started, Niantic made the call to lengthenPokemon GOCommunity Day events, but it found that only a small fraction of its players actually played outside the usual three-hour window, so it’s decided to reduce Community Day to three hours again starting with Stufful on April 23.
Pokemon GO April 2022 Events List
Besides Stufful Community Day on April 23,Pokemon GOplayers have more events to look forward to throughout the month of April. April 1 will feature the April Fools' day event, whileTeam Rocketwill have an increased presence from April 3 to April 7 as part of the All-Hands Rocket Retreat event. Then April 12 to April 18 will bring with it the Spring into Spring event, which is themed after the season. And finally,Pokemon GOwill have a Sustainability Week from April 20 to April 25, which will include the debut of a brand-new Generation 7 Pokemon.
All of these events are happening as part of the ongoing Season of Alola, which will continue through the end of May. The main draw of the Season of Alola is theintroduction of Generation 7 Pokemon inPokemon GO, so it will definitely be exciting to see who’s joining the lineup come April 20.
Pokemon GO Raids April 2022
April 2022 will also see new Pokemon added to thePokemon GORaids for players to battle and collect, with legendary Pokemon Tapu Lele available until April 5. ThenPokemon GOplayers can look forward to catching Therian Forme Thundurus from April 5 to April 12, with Tapu Bulu showing up from April 12 to April 26. Therian Forme Landorus is coming toPokemon GO5-star Raidsfrom April 26 to May 3.

Thundurus and Landorus coming back toPokemon GORaids may be especially exciting for players, as many have beenstuck on the Season of Legends Special Researchfor quite some time. It requires players to take snapshots of Landorus, Thundurus, and Tornadus, so thesePokemon GORaids should give players a chance to finally complete that Special Research if they haven’t done so already.
ThePokemon GOMega Raidsare also getting shaken up in April 2022. Mega Charizard Y is inPokemon GOuntil April 5, then Mega Manectric will be in the game from April 5 to April 12. Mega Pidgeot will be available from April 12 to April 29, while a mystery Mega Pokemon will be available to catch from April 29 to May 3. Niantic has not provided any kind of hint as to what that Pokemon will be, soPokemon GOplayers will have to stay tuned to find out more.
Whenever aPokemon GORaid rotation occurs, it will happen at 10:00am local time, so fans should keep that in mind. Meanwhile, they will also want to mark down the special Raid Hour events, which occur from 6:00 to 7:00pm local time. ThePokemon GORaid Hours for April 2022 includeTherian Forme Thunduruson April 6, Tapu Bulu on April 13 and 20, and Therian Forme Landorus on April 27.
The weekly 1 PokeCoin bundles will also helpPokemon GOplayers out when they’re trying to participate in all these raids, as every Monday fans can get aRemote Raid Passin exchange for a single PokeCoin, easily obtainable by taking over gyms in the game.
Pokemon GO April Field Research Breakthrough Reward
A new month inPokemon GOmeans more than just new Pokemon and new Raids. It also means a brand-new Field Research breakthrough reward for players to collect. For the uninitiated,Pokemon GOplayers can earn a stamp for each day that they complete one of the game’s Field Research tasks, which are quests gained from spinning PokeStops. Once players have managed to complete seven days worth of quests, they will get aField Research breakthrough reward, which is usually an encounter with a rare Pokemon.
ThePokemon GOApril Field Research breakthrough reward isAlolan Marowak, which fits the Season of Alola theme. Alolan Marowak will be available as a Field Research breakthrough reward from April 1 at 1:00pm PT until it’s replaced on Sunday, May 1 at 1:00pm PT.
Pokemon GO Spotlight Hours April 2022
Pokemon GOSpotlight Hoursare special events that dramatically increase the spawn rates of certain Pokemon, almost like mini-Community Days. As expected, April 2022 will feature a number of different Pokemon that will be featured during Spotlight Hours, with each one including other bonuses for fans to keep in mind as well. As a reminder,Pokemon GOSpotlight Hours take place from 6:00pm to 7:00pm local time.
On April 5,Pokemon GOplayers can find Stunky in the spotlight and get double candy when transferring Pokemon. April 12 will have Bunnelby in the spotlight and double XP for evolving Pokemon, while Oddish will be the Spotlight Hours Pokemon on April 19 with double catch stardust. And finally, April 26 will haveSunshine Form Cherrimavailable to catch alongside a double catch XP bonus.
Niantic has also noted thatPokemon GOAndroid players will soon be able to check out a newAdventure Syncwidget that lets them check things likePokemon GOegg hatching progress without actually opening the game. Those on iOS have already had access to this for a bit, but it’s nice that Android users are now able to see what it’s all about.
Besides what’s been listed by Niantic,Pokemon GOApril 2022 plans also includenew Special Researchand more, so fans of the popular augmented reality mobile game certainly have a lot to look forward to next month.
