After a sad March that went by without a Community Day thanks to concerns surrounding the coronavirus,Pokemon GOplayers are finally about to tacklethe Abra-themed eventfrom the safety of their homes thanks to increased spawns and some easy access to in-game items. Although the current focus is definitely on this weekend’s event, it’s never too early to start looking ahead to what might be next…
Niantic hasn’t announced any details about plans for May Community Day since the coronavirus situation began, but it seems highly likely that next month will bring another play-from-home safe event to keep players engaged and active while many parts of the world are still either on stay-at-home orders or practicing social distancing. The latestPokemon GOdatamine offers some hints about which Pokemon (singular or plural…) may be featured during the May event.

As always, keep in mind that datamined code is subject to change and no official announcements or confirmation from Niantic has arrived yet. That said, the new datamined source code adds a series of special quests that involve catching six different Pokemon (all of which have yet to receive the Community Day treatment).
In the past, Niantic has frequently disguised Community Day code as “special quests” to help avoid spoilers. The fact that this code isn’t just for one Pokemon makes it much harder to identify as a Community Day spoiler, but it’s possible that Niantic is acting early and adding code for multiple Community Day events or that the devs are adding some red herrings to throw dataminers off their trail.

The list definitely includes a mix of Pokemon that would be very popular for Community Day and others that would be a complete dud. It will be interesting to see what happens as May rolls in and Niantic announces the official plans for the next Community Day.
