Pokemon GO’s Giovanniwill have a Shadow Zapdos for a limited time when June begins, and players will need to save the Shadow Zapdos from the boss by tracking him down with a Super Rocket Radar. The radar is acquired from the latest Team Go Rocket Special Research called “The Higher They Fly…”. This encounter lasts until June 17. After this date, Giovanni will reportedly have a different Shadow Pokemon trainers will need to save.

For the entire month of June, the Research Breakthrough encounters inPokemon GOwill feature Clamperl, the bivalve Pokemon. This will start June 1 at 1:00 p.m. and end July 1 at 1:00 p.m. as well. During this time, trainers will receive a free Remote Raid Pass and twice the normal XP when they hit a Research Breakthrough. The double XP for Research Breakthroughs will actually continue into the next season, with more news coming from Niantic in the next season announcement.

Pokemonfans who love the Regi-Legendaries will likely be excited for June’s 5-star raids, as the original trio of Regirock, Regice, and Registeel will be the featured Pokemon. These three Legendary behemoths were inPokemon GO’s December 2020 Raidsand will be returning again to challenge trainers. The Regi-trio will only be in 5-star raids until June 17, after which they will leave to make way for a surprise Legendary Pokemon to appear in Raids for the rest of the month.

Pokemon GO’s Mega Raidsfor June will include three different Pokemon, but only one of these Pokemon will be appearing at a time. Mega Lopunny will appear first from June 1 to June 8 with 10:00 a.m. start and end times. Next up, Mega Slowbro will be making its first appearance inPokemon GOvia Mega Raids from June 8 to June 17 with the same start and end times as Mega Lopunny. Finally, Mega Gyarados will be the last Mega Raid Pokemon of the month, lasting from June 17 all the way until July 2 with identical start and end times to Lopunny and Slowbro.

The month of June will also include other activities, including Pokemon Spotlight Hours, a Community Day on June 6 featuring Gible, and a few more upcoming events. One of these events will begin on June 25 at 10:00 a.m., and so far Niantic is keeping it a surprise forPokemon GOtrainers.
