The return of the Regi-trio started at the end of January, but the rotation of Legendary Battle Raid bosses continues through the first few weeks of February, as well. Many of the Battle Raid bosses this month directly link to thePokemon GOFebruary 2022 events calendar, but the first week will see players facing off against Regirock once again.
Regirock remains a fairly popular Pokemon in the mobile AR game, despite mixed opinions about the relevance of the Regi-trio inthe overallPokemon GOmetagame. That means that this week may end up being a very popular time for Legendary Battle Raids and trainers will be out in full force making sure that they churn through enough to earn an encounter with a Regirock who has an appropriately impressive IV. To do that,Pokemon GOplayers will want to make sure they take some time to optimize an ideal counter roster for the big fight.

Regirock, as the name suggests, isa pure Rock-type, which makes understanding its counters fairly simple and there are a lot of great options. Considering the addition of some new Pokemon to the game and the new option of Mega Evolutions, many players will still want to optimize their roster once more, even if they already did so over the summer. As usual for Regirock battles, players should put their focus on Steel, Water, Fighting, Ground and Grass types. With that in mind, here are some of the top options that players should consider powering up before heading into their first Battle Raid this weekend…
Gengar (Mega) - Lick Focus Blast
Swampert - Water Gun Hydro Cannon
Players should keep in mind that this is the ideal list of counters, but there are plenty of other acceptable choices for players who are running short on Rare Candy and TMs or just don’t have a massive collection ofLegendary and Mega Pokemonto select from. The most important thing is to take advantage of Regirock’s weaknesses and head into the fight with a decent number of friends.
Players should take note that additional tasks may pop up throughout the month based on events coming and going, but that’s everything the community has found so far. Players should learn much more about exact details of other activities throughout thefinal days of the Season of Heritage. Be sure to check back in the near future for morePokemon GOstrategy guides, news, and updates. Until then, good luck out there, trainers!
