Running from Tuesday, May 18th to Monday, May 31st inPokemon GOis the Luminous Legends Y event. It will begin at 10:00 AM on the event’s start date and end at 8:00 PM on the end date all in players' local times.
With Xerneas making its premiere in the Luminous Legends X event inPokemon GO, the Luminous Legends Y event serves as the premiere of Yveltal. However, the event won’t be entirely focused on this legendary Pokemon, with the timed research tasks being mostly related to Team GO Rocket and the Shadow Pokemon.

There are a total of seven steps for the Luminous Legends Y timed research tasks with there being three tasks in each step. Players will only have the event’s duration to complete these tasks and collect their rewards.
By completing these tasks, players can earn a variety of valuable item rewards alongside encounters with differentDark-type Pokemon. With some of the items being especially rare for those not willing to shell out coins in the in-game store, it is definitely worth completing as many of these tasks as possible. The first step of these tasks has:
Catch five Dark-type Pokemon- Alolan Rattata encounter
Step Completion Rewards- 1,000 XP and Stunky encounter
The second step entirely focuses on purifying Shadow Pokemon rescued fromTeam GO Rocket. These tasks and their rewards are:
Purify seven Shadow Pokemon- Mysterious Component
Step Completion Rewards- 2,000 XP and Alolan Rattata encounter
Step three is all about battling theleaders of Team GO Rocketand defeating them. The specific tasks are:
Defeat Team GO Rocket Leader Sierra- 2,000 XP
Step Completion Rewards- 2,000 XP and Murkrow encounter
Moving on to the fourth step, there is more variety in the tasks with them being:
Earn eight hearts with your buddy- Glacial Lure
Step Completion Rewards- 3,000 XP and Mightyena encounter
For the fifth step, players will need to complete the following:
Catch twenty Dark-type Pokemon- Sneasel encounter
Step Completion Rewards- 3,000 XP and Alolan Meowth encounter
Coming close to the end is step six with its tasks being:
Win one raid- Houndoom encounter
Catch five different species of Dark-type Pokemon-Alolan Grimerencounter
Step Completion Rewards- 4,000 XP and Absol encounter
The final step is step seven. Its last stretch of tasks and rewards are:
Purify ten Shadow Pokemon- Poffin
Defeat a Team GO Rocket Leader three times- Galarian Zigzagoon encounter
Step Completion Rewards- 5,000 Stardust and Deino encounter
