Summary
APokemonfan has crossed PIkachu and Raichu with Tranquill and Mienshao, creating new Flying and Fighting-type fusions. The interesting creations significantly shake up Pikachu and its evolution’s design, givingPokemonfans an idea of what unique Pokemon fusions could be like if they ever became a part of the series.
While thePokemongames and anime have seen alimited number of Pokemon fusions, they’re not usually as abstract as this. Most Pokemon fusions just involve multiple instances of the same Pokemon coming together to become a new evolution. Seeing five normal Pokemon fusing like this isn’t typical of thePokemonseries, but that doesn’t stop fans from imagining what it could be like.
Pokemonfan JigglePixel shared three unique designs that fuse Pikachu with Tranquill, Raichu with Mienshao, and Alolan Raichu with Mienshao. Pikachu’s fusion becomesElectric/Flying-type, while the two versions of Raichu become Electric/Fighting-types. The fusion choices aren’t totally random, as the artist based them upon the Pokedex. Pikachu’s #25 crosses with Tranquill’s #520, while Raichu’s #26 crosses with #620, Mienshao.
The three creations have been given Pokedex entries, as well. Pikaquill, the firstPokemon fusion, says that the Pokemon was used to send messages before the internet came into being. Raishao gets into sparring sessions that create big light shows through released electricity, while Alolan Raishao maintains Alolan Raichu’s tail, using it to perform in the air, intriguing onlookers. Pikachu, in comparison to the two Raichu designs, loses more of the elements that make it recognizable, mostly maintaining its ears and cheek marks. Raichu, on the other hand, maintains most of its coloring and general design, albeit becoming slinkier with longer front limbs, like Mienshao.
Pokemon Fusion Popularity
Some of thepopularity of Pokemon fusionlikely comes from the existence of Pokemon breeding. Ever since it was introduced to the series in Gen 2, fans have often speculated what it would be like if Pokemon could crossbreed properly. Generally, if two different Pokemon species breed and produce an egg, the egg will belong to one of the two species. Even so, fans have always been curious about Pokemon pairings instead creating mash-ups between two distinct species. However, at this point in time, implementing such a thing would be a nightmare for the games, as over 1000 individual Pokemon now exist. It would be interesting to see a futurePokemongame at least allow the fusion of select species.
