One of the things that many fans are often excited to learn about with the release of a new generation ofPokemongames is what the new Legendaries are going to be. WithPokemon Scarlet and Violetonly a few more months away, the box Legendaries,Koraidon and Miraidon, have already been revealed. While these two new Legendary Pokemon are receiving a lot of attention, that has not stopped some nostalgic fans from making fan art based on some of the older Legendaries in the series, such as Kyogre.
Taking to Reddit, a user known as arkhai2 shared a picture they had recently created based on thePokemonseries. However, this was no ordinary picture, as the artist had decided to make a scene featuring a confrontation between Kyogre and Wailmer, anotherWater-type Pokemon. In addition, this image was even more noteworthy, considering the Reddit user chose to make it in pixel art.

In the image, Kyogre occupied the left side of the screen and looked at a Wailmer with a Pokemon Trainer positioned on top of it. Adding to the scene, the Wailmer had an exclamation mark above its head, suggesting that it would be no match for the much larger pocket monster in a battle. Furthermore, three text options were visible to the right of thePokemon Trainer, with the “RUN” option highlighted in the picture. As if the beautiful designs of the Pokemon were not enough, arkhai2 managed to create an impressive background that contained shades of blueish-green and appeared full of vegetation.
Many members of thePokemoncommunity on Reddit have been talking about this recent pixel artwork featuring Kyogre. Among the comments, numerous gamers pointed out that they liked the design decision to make Kyogre look like it was covered in cracks. In fact, arkhai2 revealed that they had intentionally designed the Legendary that way as they “really wanted Kyogre to look really old.” Impressively, this artwork has managed to gain more than 23.8K upvotes in only a day, which is no small accomplishment on thePokemonsubreddit.
It is often impressive to see members of thePokemoncommunity design fan art based on their favorite pocket monsters from the series. In addition to this Kyorge pixel art, other gamers have created artwork based on the whale-like Legendary in the past. For instance, one fan previously decided to make a picture imaginingwhat Kyogre would like as a Ghost-type Pokemon. Time will tell what other creations featuring this Pokemon will surface on the internet in the coming days.
