A talentedPokemonfan has created a Paradox form for Charizard. Over the decades there have been many heated debates about favorite Pokemon, and that hasn’t changed withPokemon Scarlet and Violet. While each player’s most beloved Pokemon can be very different, in some cases there is a consensus within thePokemoncommunity.
One case is thatCharizard is very popularamongPokemonfans. The Gen 1 Fire/Flying-type is one of the most iconic Pokemon in the series, serving as the mascot forPokemon Redand thePokemon FireRedremake. Charizard is not in Gen 9’s Pokedex, but despite this, it appears in mostPokemongames. Charizard’s popularity is not restricted to Pokemon, however, as the monster also appears in severalSuper Smash Bros.games, including the franchise’s most recent title,Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Charizard is also a notable name inPokemonanime, the most prominent appearance being Ash’s Charizard.

Reddit user DrakeBoi13 shared fan art that makes an impressive rendition of a Paradox Charizard. Named Iron Inferno, it is a Future Paradox Pokemon, which is well emphasized by the user’s chosen colors, which are usually associated with something more modern. Iron Inferno has a fully mechanical body with a pair of horn-like structures and parts of wings in blue. Besides the flames coming out of its mouth, the most notable detail of Paradox Charizard is the tail shaped like a blowtorch. The Paradox Pokemon concept has inspired some pretty creative ideas from the community, such asParadox HootHoot fan artthat explored the idea of a “steampunk Pokemon.” To see the full image, click here.
In the comments of the Reddit post, DrakeBoi13 revealed that Iron Inferno had its designinspired by Mega Charizard X, one of the forms Charizard can achieve using the Mega Stone Charizardite X. The user gave the Pokemon the Fire/Steel-type, a unique combination only seen in the case of the Legendary Pokemon Heatran. According to DrakeBoi13, this choice of types came from the fact that few Paradox Pokemon are Steel-type. The combination of context and design makes thePokemonfan art imagine Iron Inferno having access to Fire moves that are quite powerful.
The fan art created by DrakeBoi13 shows that although Charizard is not the poster boy Pikachu, the Pokemon has earned its place in the franchise and the hearts of fans. Charizard goes even further, being one of themost iconic anime dragons. With a simple but well-executed idea, DrakeBoi13 created a Paradox form sure to please Charizard fans.
